Kolo Toure leaving?

Information from Turkey says Kolo has ACCEPTED the proposal and is on the way to Bursaspor's training camp.

Hats off and pay your respects to this.

I reckon it would have taken off next season too after it went viral on YouTube.

If we are getting a younger CB, then here is a few worth looking at;

Mateo Musacchio, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Dede, all young and promising and would n't cost the earth in transfer fee or wages. Another one worth looking at is Mathias Jørgensen, although he has just joined PSV on a free transfer so we will have to leave him be for now and may be go in for him in a few transfer windows time. Any one of the top 3 would do, we get a young CB who could develop in to a world class player and a stalwart in our team, and we don't break the bank. A loan for Savic, and Boyata as 4th or 5th choice depending on how RekiK does. If one of our backups suffers for form put Micah at CB, if we get rodriguez as a winger or WB then we won't be left short at fullback. Although Kolarov has been linked with a move away so maybe get Radu as a replacement for Kolo and Kola.

How about this as a defence this season;

Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Zaba, Matias Rodriguez, Boyata and Radu. They should all get enough games as Zaba and Radu can fill in at LB and MR can play further up the pitch as a winger, and RekiK though young may break through this season in which case we may move on savic and Boyata next summer.

No problem - Savic will be a quality player. I thought he did ok last season. Can't have been easy getting thrown in at the deep end. He will come good and is a solid back-up for Jolean and Vincent.

It took a lot of thought let me tell you!

We're only getting £2.8million for him if the figures being reported are true, though I imagine we're happy to get a fee with one year left on his contract and with him earning quite a bit to warm the bench.

His wages sound very low, £1.97million/year which works out as £41,000/week... but I think Turkey only has a 15% tax law or something which may bring his earnings close to what he got for us?

He was making around 120k/week for us, that came out during the diet pill fiasco.

Huge wage savings.

Sad to see him leave though, he's a really nice guy. And a pretty damn high quality backup when you look at what other teams in the PL have as backup.

Just curious, what's your source on the transfer fee, because all the newspapers are saying £6m...

Turkish news sites, same ones revealing that Kolo has agreed terms. £6million would be a lot for a 30-something with one year left on his contract.
