Selling Kolo is a huge mistake.

His wages sound very low, £1.97million/year which works out as £41,000/week... but I think Turkey only has a 15% tax law or something which may bring his earnings close to what he got for us?
Just curious, what's your source on the transfer fee, because all the newspapers are saying £6m...
Turkish news sites, same ones revealing that Kolo has agreed terms. £6million would be a lot for a 30-something with one year left on his contract.

Just got lucky
KOLO TOURE is ready to quit Premier League champions Manchester City for Turkish minnows Bursaspor.
Toure, 31, has failed to agree a new contract with the Blues after falling down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.
The ex-Arsenal defender admitted last week he would consider leaving the billionaires if he felt there was no future for him in Manchester.
Roberto Mancini is keen to get the £90,000-a-week star off the club’s wage bill to make room for new arrivals.
Bursaspor have made a £6m bid for Toure and are hoping to secure a deal within days.
Talks are being held between the clubs and Bursaspor boss Ertugrul Saglam said: “We have been in talks with Kolo Toure over the past two days.
“It would be one of the most important transfers to be completed by an Anatolian side.
“Obviously nothing is certain until he puts pen to paper, but we are working hard to try to finalise a deal.”
Toure, 31, made just eight league starts last season.
His opportunities were restricted by the formidable pairing of Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.
Toure cost the Blues £16m when he joined them from the Gunners in 2009. And he was instrumental in luring his brother Yaya to the Etihad Stadium from Barcelona.
But the beginning of the end for Toure was when he failed a drug test in March 2011 after admitting taking his wife’s slimming pills.
He was handed a six-month ban and even though the Blues stood by him, Toure found himself cast into the wilderness.
He returned to action last September but struggled to make an impact and Mancini decided he would not be offered a new deal.

6 million?! Daylight robbery!
Bursaspor manager, Ertuğrul Sağlam confirmed that negotiations with Manchester City defender are ongoing to reporters present at the clubs Austria summer training camp yesterday.
Sağlam said, "We have been in talks with Kolo Toure over the past two days, it's would be one of the most important transfers to be completed by an Anatolian side.
"Obviously nothing is certain until he signs pen to paper however, we are working hard to try finalize a deal. We expect a player to be transferred within 3-4 days."
Sağlam was later reported to have invited Toure to their pre-season training camp.
Bursaspor are reported to have agreed to a €3.5 million deal with Manchester City and personal terms with Kolo Toure which would see him make €2.5 million per-season.
Manchester City are in the process of reducing to their wage bill and are uncomfortable paying Toure, £90,000 per-week.
The 31-year-old experienced defender has a year left on his contract, City are unlikely to renew terms unless he accepts a wage cut and a reduced role in the team.
Toure has struggled for first-team opportunities this season, only getting eight Premiership starts and featuring in 22 matches in all competitions.
Bursaspor club are unlikely to be able to match his current wages however, the difference in the tax rates would reduce the difference.
According to sports economist, Tuğrul Akşar "Turkish clubs are attractive as they give more money to the football players and the tax rate of 15 percent is lower than in Europe."

I would imagine that City will have to pay him the difference in the year's salary out of the transfer fee.
At City £90,000 = 4.5M PA
Turkey £40,000 - = 2M PA
So in fact we will receive £3.5M
Rammyblues said:Kolo's biggest mistake was the drugs ban, allowed Lescott to establish himself without pressure and to be fair to Jolean never looked back and worked damm hard to keep the position. Centre back is one of the most difficult positions to fill IMO because it takes time for partnerships to develop and so difficult for other players to break that pairing up once established. Only have to look at the rags to see how they have suffered because of it even though they seem to have an abundance of so called centre backs.
ForzaMancini said:Personally I think we should sign someone proven in the Premier League (IF Kolo goes), my choices would be
Hangeland - Cheap, proven and solid.
Jagielka - Good player, can play RB as well, proven partnership with Lescott. Could get fairly cheap. (Best option IMO)
Dunne - Mainly for sentimental reasons but he could definitely do a job as 3rd/4th choice CB.
Coloccini - Expensive but a very good CB, would provide serious competition with Lescott. Add to the Argentinians.
Shawcross - Good CB and brave. No doubt Stoke would demand some inflated price but again, for 3rd choice he would be alright.
Or if we are willing to splash the cash then surely Martinez is the best option.
martinez has come out saying he's staying in Bilbao for at least ine more season as its his home town club and he wants them to push on....personnaly think he fancies a crack at barca but they've probably spent all their money(albeit looking like a bargain)on alba!
