Just out of sheer off topic curiosity, what did you City fans who were fans before Abu Dhabi think about Chelsea when Abramovich was buying everybody under the sun?

tbf it didnt bother me one bit, at the time we had no hope of being close to them and it meant (for me anyway) that the rags had someone who was going to cause an upset. I have watched City for 26 years (31 now so long before the take over) and have always believed that one day I would see us get somewhere, I never thought we would become the richest club in the world though. I do think the money has gone to some fans heads in the sense that they expect a superstar with every signing we make but we are still not that attractive to potential targets in my eyes. Terry was genuinely thinking about us and that for me is enough to show we are moving in the right direction.
I was not impressed with the EA signing but I hope he proves me wrong, maybe I was caught up in on the idea Eto'o may happen? Just proves my point I suppose, it effects us all now. As for KT I think he would/will be a fantastic buy for us, I think Barry will prove to be the best purchase though if I'm honest. I see some good youth players coming in too which pleases me, not to mention the other players we are linked with like Lescott. I think if those two can come in and one decent midfielder then we have a real good chance of 5th or 4th this term, 6th would do me though and be a great improvement.
Tevez was a great purchase and I think he will improve us too, just hope he can link up with EA. Cheslki was a different situation, it was a new thing in football, now you have Portsmouth who will be a force in the next two seasons and us who have more money than we know what to do with. I dont see any other team being bought out by an owner with our kind of money, I dont think they is anyone with our owners kind of money? The deal he did with the Barcleys shares last month shows what a business man he is £1.5b return in 3 months (double the rags debt), I think City are in good hands and the future is deffinatly blue. As for Chelski I see RA getting bored and upping sticks at some point, not to mention his money is rapidly drying up. Role on the season I say ;-)

Pam got some stick a few months ago. It started off small, and in a matter of days it became something of an industry. Pam left the forum for a few weeks.
