Let us hope that Toure signs because it looks increasingly likely that we won't be getting Lescott, at least not during this window. My gut feeling, however, is that, if Fulham or Everton get knocked out of the Europa Cup before the end of August (not checked the fixture dates), we might then get Hangeland or possibly even Lescott before the window closes.

not read all the 53 pages but what i have read it looks like we will be signing toure now and i would love hughes to pair him with carvalho next season would give us everythink you need at center half power pace <toure> positional sense ability to read a game power in the air and a leader in carvalho also our younger players nedum and richards could learn a hell of a lot of carvalho and we could probaly pick him up for 8mil

Srna is top assister in the league while Lescott gets me 15 goals a season.

I would play Zab - Upson - Lescott - Bridge with Toure, Richards, Ned, Kompany as cover. But we need a new right back because Zab isn't top 4 material.

Same here, big improvement on what we have at the moment. That would give us a back 4 of Richards--Toure--Lescott--Bridge with Zabs, Nedum, Upsons and Kompany as cover. Lescott can cover left back as well if needed thats a top 4 defensive line up for sure at least as good as Arsenal and Liverpools defensive pool IMO.

Not sure I agree with you rthere pdc. Firstly i'd start Richards because he will become a top class defender in time. And Zabaleta is very useful to have around as he can cover a number of positions. Look at United with O'Shea, Chelsea with Beletti etc. All of the top 4 have players who wouldn't be first team starters but get plenty of game time because they can come in and do a solid job. I put Zabaleta in that bracket.

I find it stange how people would rather Upson than Kompany in the starting line up. Kompany is a fantastic defender and would be my captain next season with someone like Lescott or Toure alongside him in the middle. If we only sign one Centre Back, Onouha can fill in until Kompany is fit with Ireland as captain. Imo.

Toure and Lescott are both decent though, So it would be a no nonsence defender along side a composed one. The perfect partnership in my eyes. Kompany wins every header and blocks ever ball that comes across into the box when he is around, he is quality.

Well Kompany is injured for the first month or so of the season for starters. No conviced its his best position either although he can do a decent job in there. upson is a good player and better than we have but imo behind toure and lescott, and for me it would be lescott or upson, not both seeing as there both left footed, and play a similar role for there respective clubs!

lets get them in quick that way they can play in our remaining friendlies
