Kolo Toure......

Was better today. Still our worst player, but had a decent enough game. The van Persie disallowed goal came from Kolo being twenty yards out of position and getting skinned, and he'll do something like this every time he plays, so I'll never start wanting to wank him off or laughing at other posters who've said he's shite. But pleased with him today.

Kolo Toure is my favourite defender at the club, and has been since about 10 games after he signed. Oozes class and quality.

He's more reliable than Lescott, he's also a lot quicker at reading the game.

Kolo for the big games, Lescott/Savic for the smaller ones.

Watched him closely last night...

To slow,to rash with his decision making ( Dived in for the opening goal on the winger ),for me if we can sell him I would move him on now.

No, Kolo is usefull for the team.. just need regular place.. He'll be back..lol

Why are you quoting me.This is and still is my opinion. Yes he had a good game yesterday, but look at where all there attacks came from. They knew Kolo was the weak link and targeted him. He was always about 5-10 yards off his man. I am glad he is at our club but I honestly think city will sell him in Jan or summer. We need a world class centre half to go with VK.

i'd happily sell him, every time he gets the ball he makes me nervous.

no surprise that every time he plays with kompany there's always at least one occassion where he flies over to where kompany is, ends up missing the ball and the pair of them are standing like lemons 40 yards out of position, happened v Norwich, Arshavin yesterday, Munich he didn't shine and last season v Blackburn.

keep zaba in and stick lescott back in, zaba's the leader.

Not good enough, and I was shellshocked he was picked yesterday.

To his immense credit, he had a decent game and made some great last-ditch interceptions. He got exposed a time or two late in the game, and always makes me a touch nervous when he goes pounding into a 50-50 like a bull in a china shop. His last game for us (was it Norwich?) he made two awful errors early but recovered quite well.

Well done Kolo, but you still need replacing as quickly as possible.

If only Kolo was happy to be a squad man. He's a great defender to have in reserve and he's a good influence on the squad. It's a shame he wants more regular games, because i'm sure roberto would be happy to keep him around. Maybe getting a run of games at Afcon will bring back his best form.

I believe you are incorrect in your assessment of yesterday's game. Arsenal perceived Zabaleta as the weak link. Usually, Van Persie plays on the right side partnered with Walcott. Yesterday, he was coming from the left partnered with Gervinho because I believe they thought that Walcott could take Zabaleta on his own. They were wrong, and that's good. I'm glad they thought that. Underestimating Zaba is foolish, but it doesn't mean that Kolo was considered to be weak.

-- Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:57 am --

There's always at least one occasion per match where every CB has a similar moment. It's happened with Lescott, too. This isn't me taking Lescott to task. He's done wonderfully.
