Kolo Toure......

Not good enough, and I was shellshocked he was picked yesterday.

To his immense credit, he had a decent game and made some great last-ditch interceptions. He got exposed a time or two late in the game, and always makes me a touch nervous when he goes pounding into a 50-50 like a bull in a china shop. His last game for us (was it Norwich?) he made two awful errors early but recovered quite well.

Well done Kolo, but you still need replacing as quickly as possible.

Agreed mate, although the main reason he was picked was to give Jolene a rest ahead of Stoke game which tbh made good sense as Arse were never likely to be an aerial threat.

No, Kolo is usefull for the team.. just need regular place.. He'll be back..lol

Why are you quoting me.This is and still is my opinion. Yes he had a good game yesterday, but look at where all there attacks came from. They knew Kolo was the weak link and targeted him. He was always about 5-10 yards off his man. I am glad he is at our club but I honestly think city will sell him in Jan or summer. We need a world class centre half to go with VK.
I believe you are incorrect in your assessment of yesterday's game. Arsenal perceived Zabaleta as the weak link. Usually, Van Persie plays on the right side partnered with Walcott. Yesterday, he was coming from the left partnered with Gervinho because I believe they thought that Walcott could take Zabaleta on his own. They were wrong, and that's good. I'm glad they thought that. Underestimating Zaba is foolish, but it doesn't mean that Kolo was considered to be weak.

i'd happily sell him, every time he gets the ball he makes me nervous.

no surprise that every time he plays with kompany there's always at least one occassion where he flies over to where kompany is, ends up missing the ball and the pair of them are standing like lemons 40 yards out of position, happened v Norwich, Arshavin yesterday, Munich he didn't shine and last season v Blackburn.

keep zaba in and stick lescott back in, zaba's the leader.
There's always at least one occasion per match where every CB has a similar moment. It's happened with Lescott, too. This isn't me taking Lescott to task. He's done wonderfully.

Fair comment, but I think Lescott has made 2 unfortunate errors and Kolo makes more errors in less games, Lescott is better than Kolo imho but I still think we need a commanding centre back partner for Vinnie as I just feel there's always a bit of uncertainty at the back.

lescott is the better defender , but kolo distributes the ball better ( kolo had a good game against the arse and his last ditch tackle on ramsey in the 1st half was crucial). Not a big kolo fan , but he didnt put a foot wrong on sunday. We will need lescott against the new wimbledon on wednesday night

I was very surprised by his inclusion yesterday and thought the worst. But I eat my words because he was magnificent. Tackles were spot on, especially the last ditch one against Ramsay. He won headers and always looked comfortable. He always plays tremendously well against Arsenal, whether he likes to prove himself or he simply knows how they play , I don't know. But what I know, and everyone else in the stadium knew is that he played tremendously well.

Kolo did make an impact (with his calming influence and ground ball distribution) providing outlets and creating channels not only to the midfield but also to Hart & the defense. That comes from experience at top WC clubs and for country.

At one point Gervihno given a yard, Kolo still had him (or even Walcott if he was to switch wings) in his pocket. Together with the defense City was able to nullify Van Pursy.
His sliding tackle against RVP weakened that whining pursy shot for Hart to collect easily.
Knowing that he has a great CB backup in Kolo as the last man allowed VK to made advances, forays or great tacklings or interceptions. VK had a great game (MOTM) hence. Micah was a delight to watch with his powerfull surges and penetrating runs with Kolo distributions or covering for him.

It stands to reason why we need 3 reliable & experienced CBs.

What could have been a game changer was allowing Vermaleen to get off a last minute strike! Which City midfielder was lapsed or negligent in allowing that Vermin the time and the space?

For 40 mins of the second half every football cognoscenti and fair minded fan applauded the end to end football shown by both sides. Lets continue the attacking flair and style of football that has got us to the top of the table thus far!

Not really much point in you going on a 'discussion' forum is there. Your'e cogent and articulate case on this is overwhelmingly persuasive.......

I'd go for christian chivu, he's out of contract in the summer so he's gona be cheap,he's very experienced so he'll be a cool head to have around come the later part of the season and hes played under Mancini before.
