Kolo Toure......

And he's off to ACON in January so I think Mancini defiantly needs to bring in a new young vibrant centre half in the window because we'll only be left with 3 reginised Centre backs.

My opinion for what it's worth:

Kolo - been out for a hell of a long time; give him a chance. You could see how rusty he was last night and the fact Bob put him in is good enough for me.

Savic - started too aggressively but settled into the game. Only a kid and is going to develop into a very, very good defender. Good in the air and on the deck. Strong tackler and good passer of the ball.

Last night might not have been 10/10 for either of them, but FFS!! Last time I checked I'm sure we won the game 5-2 and are in the next round??

This is a disgrace..

Just because he goes to the media and says he's open to play elsewhere, is he suddenly a shit player?

Kolo was no worse than Savic last night.. And I would feel much more comfertable if JL or VK goes down for a big game and Kolo plays instead of Savic.

I saw no problem with Kolo's pace compared to A LOT of good CB's, and he's as experienced as anyone.

Completely disagree. Savic looks so much more comfortable in my opinion. I'd start him this weekend.

Excellent knee jerk reaction - was it you lot by any chance who were trying to drum Micah Richards out of the club less than 12 months ago?
Yes he was a bit of a liability last night, and so was Savic, so why don't you get rid of him as well?
How much match practice has Toure had in the last 12 months? He was decent for a spell before he got injured, and before his ban. We ain't going to sell him any time soon. He isn't first choice any more, so try a bit of support and get off his case will ya? He needs game time.

Great post

PMSL laughing at "knee jerk reaction".

My knee started to come up about 15 minutes into his first game two seasons ago and has remained on a steady trajectory upwards ever since.

And I was a huge and vociferous defender of Micah Richards when many others doubted him.

So was I. And there's a fucking world of difference between a 21 year old lad going through a rough patch and a 30 year old player who's not been up to the job for over 3 years

And I'm not arsed about him going to the press about a move, in fact I was quite pleased to see him do it! You can say that Savic was bad last night and he wasn't great, but the point is that Savic is a 20 year old kid, Kolo is supposed to be the experienced player alongside him to guide him through. The reality is that we've always needed Vinnie alongside Kolo to guide Kolo through. He isn't up to it, never has been

I'd rather have you at centre half.

He's asked for a move?

Great news. Best he'll get is a free to somewhere like Bolton or a promoted club.

As good as:

‘I would be interested because of the competition there currently is at City,’ Toure is quoted as saying by RMC Sport.

‘If the name of Paris comes, it will not be like previous years.

‘Now if they call me, I would listen to what they say. Given the very good players there are there, it really makes you want to go there, it's clear.

‘I know I'm not the only player interested, there are other players who really want to play for PSG.

‘It's not just for the money, but also because we see that there are very good investors who want to move the club to produce good football and win trophies.’

Kola cubes. Kola cubes. I always think about Kola cubes when I hear his name. Never liked Kola cubes as a kid. I mean I'd have em if that was all that was going, usually bottom of the bag, bit sticky with some paper clinging, they were like dogs milk, the emergency back-up supply.
