Kompany injured again...

there comes a point where you have to seriously consider is this is a career ending injury, there is a long life after football and you can't risk your future for the sake of a couple of years of football.

I hope he is ok but I just can't see him ever returning as a real force again.

Maybe being too pessamistic but this is a long standing condition and even if we rest him for the rest of the season you know he will be picked for the Euro's

As long as his life after football doesn't involve any strenuous calf exertion he should be OK. He needs to cut out the lunges whilst he's playing though. God only knows how a centre half does that.

I'm no expert but I think a lot of his injuries are down to his playing style. He dives in for the ball too quickly when he could step off a bit. A lot of his injuries are caused by lunging in needlessly. It could be down to a lack of confidence in the midfield to do their job which causes him to do too much, It's well known that a lot of top defenders have to change their style and sit deeper a bit more as they get older. It's time for Kompany to do that now.

FFS If there was any possibility that Kompany thought his injury could be managed better by someone else, do you not think he'd have run it by the club by now? It's his body, his career, his ambitions on the line. It's an issue he's working through every single day of his life, and yet some people think he's passively accepting the wrong kind of treatment and that the key to solving this is to simply get some other medical staff. Quick, someone tweet him and let him know!

As if a club, with our resource would leave any stone unturned in ensuring the long term wellbeing of our prized asset.

Is it that much of a stretch to believe that perhaps there's nothing that can be done about this injury? That we can't manage something when we can't predict if and when it'll next break down? Does we need a person to blame for absolutely everything?

If you watched the videos of what he was doing in recovery it is hard to imagine how it keeps going on him. He was doing some serious work on that muscle but it seems to go under playing conditions

Oh I see people are declaring he's "finished" again. No doubt we'll have a few say he only cares about Belgium next as well...

It's sad but there will be a point where he can't play more than 15 games a season once he gets into his early 30's. His body is clearly breaking down and he doesn't have many years left of football at this level. He's a true legend of this club and embodies everything we value but it's time to prepare for life after our captain.
