Kompany red card and appeal SUCCESSFUL

Mancini said he'll appeal it, what are the odds of it being overturned?

About 50/50 for me.

Hopefully common sense on behalf of City will prevail, the next three fixtures are winnable quite easily without him, no need to twist imo. What we don't want is a four match ban, there's footage that shows Mike Dean say "two footed" when both feet leave the ground you lose control and are reckless. Take it on the chin Vinny and get that calf injury right.

Nah, we have every right to appeal the decision. Being cowed into taking it because of the fear of an extension is no way to do things.

As the panel is not always the same three people, it's a lottery. But they allowed Delap's appeal for the tackle at 0.50 of this, so if that wasn't a frivolous appeal, Vinny's surely shouldn't be... (unless the FA is corrupt of course)...

But we are playing a different hand of pontoon than Stoke. As we know sometimes a ref in the same game isn't consistent. What we don't want is Vinny banned for 4 games and that is the gamble. He's been injured and playing with injuries might just be the chance to give him a rest we are going to need him when we are frying bigger fish.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

It was never a red card and clearly should be recinded on appeal. However I was of the same opinion last season too and the FA upheld Kompany's ban so I wouldn't trust the FA to make the right and sensible decision.

I may be a touch paranoid but is it just a coincidence that this is now 2 years in a row that Kolo Toure has gone to the ACON and Kompany has been handed a lengthy ban straight away? Last season we ended up relying on Savic, this season, assuming the ban is upheld, it'll be Nastasic and Lescott, one of whom will need to play at right sided centre half which isn't ideal.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

As much as I don't think it was a red card, I don't think it will be rescinded either as the fact that Kompany's feet both left the ground means that the ref CAN make a decision. I wouldnt appeal it and have him back for the game against the scousers...not ideal to have no right footed cb, but with nastasic and lescott we should have enough and rekik in reserve to beat fulham and qpr. not sure about the fa cup game though, especially if stoke get through as is fast becoming a bogey ground for us

There's no reason not to appeal. The decision will be made before the Fulham game so, even if we lose the appeal, Kompany still misses exactly the same games. He'll be back for the scousers anyway.

Is that because you feel the ref was correct,or are you a fan from another club ?

No i'm a blue mate. As i say i don't think the ref is correct and thought it was a great tackle but Kompany gives the ref the opportunity to send him off by having both feet off the ground...so this can be taken by the officials as him being 'out of control'.

Re: Kompany red card and appeal

Think Dean just saw it as an opportunity to level it out with their sending off, pressure of his back, however as good a tackle as it was and should be rescinded I think we should just accept it and move on never gonna get it over turned by The FA, we loose him for Fulham(H), Qpr(A) and Stoke/Palace(A) could be a lot worse, don't fancy loosing him for Liverpool
