Kompany selected for the Belgian National Football Team

If he wants to play for his country then we have to acchept dis. Maybe going to a World Cup is more important to VK than 2nd place instead of third or fourth. This possibility has to be accepted when we take a player on. We cannot assume that we take precedence in the players eyes.

If the Belgian docs deemed him fit then why shouldn't they play him. 90 minutes for a first game back after what sounds like a risky injury doesn't sound advisable though.

My main problem with it is with Roberto though (yes, I've always been a fan of his, just never claimed him to be flawless). Why oh why does he feel the need to air these conversations and opinions with the media? And why does nobody tell him to stop. I don't see any possible positive from it.

Mancini totally overreacted.
Weeks before the international games there was daily contact between Vinny, the City medical staff and the national team doctors.

Before the away game in macedonia on friday club and national medical staff agreed it was too soon to play.
Before Tuesdays game Vinny and both medical staffs agreed he was ready to play.
If the player and both doctors say he's ready, who is mancini to say he can't?
He is no doctor, he doesnt know what his captain feels.

You can be 100% certain that Vinny had more intensive training sessions prior to the game than playing 90 minutes in defense against macedonia.
A player like Vinny doesnt need match rythm, when he's fit he's fit.

I agree with Mancini on this one. It seems as if he was to report to the national team base, be examined and then return to City. The fact they then deemed him fit and played him for 90 minutes is irrelevant - it was against the clubs wishes. Lets face it, if Vinny was a Red then SAF would have either not allowed him to go or he would have had strict instructions not to play (Wilmott the National manager would have also got an ear bashing!). If he had aggravated the injury, why should City be without his services in this crucial period?

Lets not have bacon face as our manager template! Just because all the swampites lick his arse, does mean we should have the same style of management.

because he wants to try and play in a World Cup. Why should we have the right to stop him? If we want players of international standard we have to accept they will want to play for their country.
