Kompany statement (missing the euros)

I love him, but sadly we cant rely on him until he proves his fitness. Keep him out our club and give him every chance next season. If he is fit then it is a bonus. After that we have to say goodbye. In the meantime we need 2 first choice CB's.

Completely torn a thigh muscle supposedly, long way back for him but if anyone has the determination it's VK

This is 2016 and it really does not have to be anymore for Kompany and any player in this situation to face the problem head on by searching and getting a competent specialist that will not only assess, diagnose and treat but will also prognosticate and give him a full account of what his injury situation really is, then he and the club can disclose it to the public if they want and he can finally decide on what he wants to do with his career in light of the reality.

All these vague unsubstantial hero talk about ''never given up'' and ''I will come back strong'' does not address the fact that there is a problem and it needs sorted out. So although this persistent lapses and recurrence is a shame for him, his family and for all the other parties involved including Manchester City and Belgium, my advice is that he seeks a specialist or better assistance over the summer and find out where he stands.

wow 4 month. from one injury to another.
time to find regular starter CB duo then. i'm not sure Ota and Mangala is the answer.
City needs leader on the field, particularly at the back 4.
i find it fascinating when Kolarov do his usual bollocks, no other dares to talk to him.
Zab, Yaya are no captain material. and Hart just smiling.

Of course he will have sought advice from inside and outside the club.

He's going to have a long rehab now. Might be the best thing for him for his long term career. he will turn it into a positive.

so he won't be fit for the start of next season then, i can't see Pep going into next season without another signing.

Where does this leave the Laporte signing? Cant see us starting the season with two crocked centre backs.

On the plus side Lieven Maesschalck, the Belgium team doctor said he thinks Kompany has at least 5 years in top flight football left

He will given the amount of club games he is missing.

The reality is, there comes a point where you make a choice as a player and that prolong your club career which invariably means retiring from Internationals or risk both.

Our Captain is at that stage now.

The point is that he has to know and fully understand his current situation and then act accordingly and the hope and requirement is that the specialist he consults make it absolutely clear to him after assessment/treatment. The hope is that it can be fixed with an operation (like the one he just had) or a series of operations and a proper rehab without been rushed back will also help. But one thing is certain, this cycle cannot continue so let us hope that he met the right specialist this time around.

I really did not get that sense from his comments. It sounds more like he is doubling down. Gonna work hard to overcome this injury, and plans on being in Russia or wherever the fuk the next World cup is.
