Kompany

I must have seen it all wrong and I do not want Elano out at all. I think he has played much better of late and when he played against Villa in his best position he was very good. Tonight his tracking back and tackling was so poor I was amazed he was kept on the field.

I suggest again to anyone who has it videod go back and watch just Elano. He wasn't good going forward tonight but defensively he was a liability.

I get what you mean mate, not his best game. Things just weren't going for him. But he did put the effort in and that's all that can be asked.

I thought Elano played well. Did what he had to excellently. Don't remember him giving the ball away, he chased back and challenged and put in a few good passes.

Elano was him old self tonight.

Great going forward, his tracking back was poor, he gave up tracking back towards the end. He's human, he was tired.

He just puts in a professional performance. As a City supporter you hope for more heart. He doesn't have one.

I am hoping City will prove a shock for Chelski on Sunday. Last time they completely dominated the midfield. Zablatta mustard. De Jong and hopefully Kompany back, will prove a big surprise and completely change the dynamics of our last meetings.

Dunne and Richards are finally at previous seasons levels of motivation.

Sweep will shine as he punishes Chelsea, for their lack of faith.

Ireland and Robby pure genius.

It will be a classic game Sunday.

I thought Elano did well but shirked out of a few too many challenges to be classed as having a great game. The one in the first half where he stood off and the Aalborg player got his shot in (which to be fair deflected off Elano) springs to mind. If that was someone like Zab, Kompany or Stevie they would have been flying in and won the ball. Still had a good game though Elano

Seems the real Elano performance is coming out bit by bit now from different people. He was poor. His part of keeping defensive shape for the team was seriously lacking and what some might call a tackle was a token effort. The same against Chelsea would be shown up big time.

Get off his case, he is a creative midfield player, he's never going to be a Kompany or DE Jong, hes not got there physique for a start, do we want him getting injured every 5 minutes. This is why he will spend some games on the bench, let him do what he does best in the right games, ie spread wonderful passes around, admittedly a couple go astray, but he can open up defences with his vision, unlike Kompany and De Jong who will stop the opposition playing.

Bit unfair to them that they're both good enough to not only stop them playing but get us ticking as well

unbelievable that a kompany thread can turn into a slag elano thread

elano played well last night. fact
