Kompany

not good enough for where we want to go to. People will slate me because they want VK to thrive since he wasn't a big money signing and has a big heart, but at the end of the day he's not that great. Poor positioning sense and always loses concentration at vital moments.

It's not what people want to hear but I just call it as I see it.
look, I think we are a little weaker in this area than most fans think, and whilst Kompany generally did very well in the second half of last season, I did notice a few lapses.

but as for "not good enough for where we want to go", I disagree strongly.

It's a very negative assessment of him as a player, and a very negative way of looking at what that means about his future. he has a bit to prove before he can be classed a top bracket CB, that's all.

and who said his passing was poor? ye gods.

Don't forget his natural position is center mid. That's where he was bought to play, he only dropped to cb to cover injurys. And to be fair he has been one of the most consistent players even though he does have lapses. He has looked out of his depth on this you're but he's not on his own is he? I do think we need a comanding centre back because going off last season we've seen lescot, tours onu and Richards caught in no mans land. The problem would be getting back into midfield due to the amount of players we have in that position. I would rather have him there though instead of Barry irland and viera.. Only my opinion. It hurts me too when we loose and I can, like others get frustrated but we' all be there behind the team starting Saturday against Valencia

He is considered one of the best young talents in Europe. This is kneejerk at its worse, how many bad games did he have last season in the ferociously competitive Premier League? And because he has a bad game or two in pre-season friendlies he suddenly isn't good enough for the level we seek? Well, he's no Johnny Evans or Chris Smalling I guess. ;)

Would send Lescott, Toure, and Micah to the bench or beyond before Kompany.

this ^^^

and also on top of his performances, his off-field work make me very proud to have him as a city player :)

He was one of the better CBs in the 2nd half of last season, yet all of a sudden he's not good enough ??? I don't think anyone has ever claimed he was World Class, but to say he is average is way off the mark.

Sometimes clubs have players that can do no wrong. Some clubs have players that get stick no matter what. Kompany comes into this cat and micah in the other.

As a season ticket holder this is my view. Vinnie switches off quite alot and can sometimes be very casual. His distribution can be woefull at times. He is a decent player but he needs to cut out the silly mistakes.

not a over reaction , just my sole views.
