Kompany

Well done to the OP for creating another Mancini out thread on the sly.

If it was a choice between Kompany or Mancini who was to stay theres only one winner for me all day....

Captain Kompany.

I posted last night that Kompany would win a power struggle easily.

He could finish Mancini today with one single interview. The good news is that Vinny will certainly have an ongoing dialogue with Begerestein so I suspect any power battle will have already been won, hence Mancini not caring what he says any more.

If we assume that Kompany has said (and it is a big assumption), "It's me or him", then the player, whoever it is, should be sold.

Correct. Very dangerous practice having the players with that sort of power. It's why Chelsea down tools and kick themselves out of the league every year, because they know they'll get what they want out of it.

Having said that VK doesn't strike me as the sort of person who would try that sort of ultimatum.

No. the story is twofold. That Vinny's not happy with his treatment and that Vinny's not happy with Mancini's public comments. And the story is public because Mancini went public, and Vinny's fired a little shot back in retaliation. That's the problem here. A dispute about treatment and international commitments is not great, but that kind of thing that happens. Having out in the media does nobody any good whatsoever and is potentially damaging to the club.

There is not one single reason why having this in the press is a good thing. There are several reasons why it's a bad thing. So there is no reason to do it.

Exactly.

Vincent's not the kind of player who's ever going to down tools - nor is he the type to say something like "it's him or me". He isn't represented by a coterie of hangers on and agents. His dad does his negotiating for him on football matters. If the relationship between him and Mancini has hit rock bottom then I would wager that he'd simply talk directly to Soriano, Begiristain, and Khaldoun, find out what Barcelona would have to bid for City to sell him, and quietly get it done. He's far too well respected at City, far too clever and frankly too much of a good guy to fuck around and play games.

I agree that players having too much power is a bad thing but managers can bring problems on themselves. Fortunately, Vinnie is no John Terry.

So lets pretend for one moment the story isn't true (which btw it is), would any newspaper have even had it had Mancini said nothing about Vinny's call up. After all, it's not like the club don't talk to the Belgian FA, or to FIFA. There's plenty of ways to register your displeasure at a player's call up which don't involve making it public.

Seems people want to have their cake and it eat when it comes to the things Mancini says in a press conference. He constantly gives the press stories, and then we all sit around and cry at how badly the press treat us when they take the story he's given them and run with it.

There is no denying that if Mancini had not aired his grievance about Vinnie, the press would not have this story.

And neither would you outers :) you lambast him for this whilst loving it too as it gives you ammo..

Ironing or what.

He's been at loggerheads before with Mancini on certain issues, all this has done is open up old wounds, not good!

what issues?

I'm not disclosing the issues, they're issues surrounding the squad, don't forget he's the players spokesman and if you think it's been a bed of roses since 2009, your wrong!

You cant say there are issues then not say what they are!

Mancini out !!
Kompany out !!
Nasri out !!
B*ollocks, everybody out !!!

What a load of bullshit!!!

Everyone has arguments and disagreements, I do with my manager and it means nothing. If you think people agree about everything then you're in cloud cuckoo land. So what if Mancini and Kompany don't agree on something, at the end of the day Mancini is the manager and will make the final decision but it's clear as day he has a lot of respect for Kompany. If he feels Kompany is in the wrong then he has every right to say it, just like Kompany has with him. It's not like he's undermining him and calling him a c*** is it.
