Kompany

thought I'd have a look on BM and see if I've missed anything this week.

Interesting reading both the Mancini & Kompany threads.

I raised concerns some time ago regarding the relationship of Mancini and some of the senior players at the club. What has come out regarding Kompany does not surprise me one bit. Bobby should have been having discussions internally regarding the Vinny situation. The Belgian FA were in constant communication with the club. Why criticise Vinny in public.

I think there are some other senior players who have lost respect. I'm talking the likes of Silva & Aguero. But thats my opinion from what I have seen and hear.

I think the club need to nip it in the bud. We can't be in a situation where players have the power but we also need a manager who players believe in.

Fergie does it to his players and he gets all praise for being a strict and "don't take shit" individual. Our manager does it and everybody, even our own fans, climb on him.

If I remembered correctly, just a few months/weeks back, either Aguero or Silva came out stating that Mancini is a good manager or something, surely that's not out of lack of respect?

And I don't really see how that's a criticism, it's just being made out to be and blown to proportions by the distorted media.

There's a massive difference between Ferguson & Mancini

He has kept a good core of players who are his guardians in the dressing room. They are his senior pro's. Any new players who come into the environment tow the party line. The moment they start giving shit they are shipped off - in doing that he has still maintained his success rate. Which has led to Respect. I still think he is an excellent man manager, he gives his players shit behind closed doors but very rarely does he come out and single individual players out for criticism, he would criticise the collective group with the odd exception for praise. Plus his record both domestically and in Europe is exceptional.

Mancini has not earnt respect in my opinion from all the players and created too many fires within and I also suspect some of the players have questioned his methods and tactics in some key games.

In response to your bit about criticism - I think this has been a flame which has been burning for some time and there is a definite increase in wind and the flame is starting to become a fire. Needs to be put out for the sake of the season finishing strong.

I've been saying for some time - the 2 poor champions league campaigns and especially the tactical blunders and then the open criticism of players may have led to certain senior players questioning his ability to lead the team and set them up correctly for key games. Lets hope he has some of that magic dust left from the last 6 games last season.

Anyway this is a Vinny thread not a Mancini one

Mancini was wrong to have gone public on this occasion especially if the club had sanctioned it. He would have had a case if the club did not sanction it.

Lets hope both Vinny and Mancini kiss and make up until the end of the season and bring us another trophy.

I still recall the frenzied wanking festival that took place after Gammon castigated Rooney for being a greedy twat.

No.

Because it wasn't Kompany's choice. it was the Belgian coach's. So he would have been out of order to blame Kompany.

They were both wrong. They need to stop sulking and get on with trying to beat the rags on Monday and then they need to think about winning the FA Cup again.

No - you don't seem to get the point here - this should not have been done in public - it has done no good all around. This should have been done behind closed doors between Mancini, Vinny & the club doctors and reps who sanctioned it

Seems like Vinny has questioned the club's medical staff on how he feels the club have managed his injury - these are the same medical people who Mancini himself has brought in having sacked the previous staff.

Interesting debate - the point everyone are trying to make is it should not have been made public
