It does remain strange that Kompany was out with his calf injury for such a long time and that a proven world class physiotherapist like Lieven Maesschalck (and he is, Real tried to add him to their staff) had him back in form in less than a week.

He was very close to a return when he went away with the Belgian team.

Which was in no small part because the Belgian FA sent Maesschalck to Manchester early March to help out with his recovery.

Or it could just be that March was when the injury had run its course and he was close to fully fit.

The Belgian physio may well have helped his recovery but to put it all down to him seems a bit convenient.

Well done to the OP for creating another Mancini out thread on the sly.

If it was a choice between Kompany or Mancini who was to stay theres only one winner for me all day....

Captain Kompany.

If we assume that Kompany has said (and it is a big assumption), "It's me or him", then the player, whoever it is, should be sold.

He's been at loggerheads before with Mancini on certain issues, all this has done is open up old wounds, not good!

what issues?

I'm not disclosing the issues, they're issues surrounding the squad, don't forget he's the players spokesman and if you think it's been a bed of roses since 2009, your wrong!

So, all this bluster about VK being at odds with Mancini, portrayed as a 'It's him or me' scenario is all based on an opinion article from a Belgium paper?

I'm sure they've go no reason to print speculation and defend one of their players or their national team coach, not one reason at all.

Amazing, also, is the healing hands of their physio. He's Jesus like in his ways if he can sort that out in a couple of days.

Edit: Anybody know what these mean:

Since 2009 VK has become an elite defender and we've won a league and FA Cup. Perhaps loggerheads aren't such a bad thing.

If you want to look at it that way, i can't argue
