Kostas Manolas ( Cheap 3rd / 4th CB ? 35m Euros Release Clause)

Assuming we swap Danilo for Cancelo, buy Rodri and it seems we want Felix. Unless Sane goes we would need to replace Otamendi with a homegrown cb.

Never rated him that highly. Reminds me of a Demichelis (first season) with more pace.

If we are going for a player in the Serie A, Koulibaly, Romagnoli and Skriniar are all better options.

This particular Demichelis "locked up" Messi and Suarez in the UCL game. This would be a brilliant move, best to snap him up before the scousers give him a look. A Manolas VVD pairing would be formidable.

Not a fan. Personally would like to see us go in for either Koulibaly, Skriniar or Konate if De Ligt is out of reach. We need a strong, powerful, domineering CB, i just don't see Manolas as the answer.

Mmm? I thought it was a no from me yesterday. However, that was based upon a lot of his show reels showing the more combatative traits of his game. I think I may have spoke to soon though because someone said in this thread that he has got 200 appearances for Roma. I don't think he would have got that much in that team and not be comfortable on the ball.

It's a wait and see then.

Those are the qualities of Manolas, loves to go in for the rough tackles also. Koulibaly is brilliant but to slow for the pl plus De Laurentis is a fool and seems to have some kind of grudge against us (this goes way back to when Mancini had his eyes on Cavani and Lavezzi) Skrinar would cost as much as De Ligt besides Inter are rebuilding, they just got back into the UCL so I don't see Conte selling then there's Konate, good but inexperienced also the bundesliga isn't known for quality defenders. Laporte is great but still developing, Stones is promising but still inexperienced, Eric Garcia looks like one for the future, basically we need to get an experienced defender and there aren't that many out there right now! Real just paid 50M euros for Lyon's Mendy and he is very very green as a defender, that's a clear indication that there aren't that many quality defenders out there right now. Manolas for 35M euros would be brilliant business imo.

watched a few videos of him this morning and to be fair he looks a really good player? looked fantastic against barca in the champions league, wins headers, likes a tackle and can pass well with both feet? 35m euros could be a bargain when pep improves him further?
