Aguero vows to stay at City

Sergio Aguero has vowed to stay at Manchester City and fire them to glory again.

The Argentine striker has been linked with Real Madrid ever since his 2011 move to the Etihad Stadium from Atletico Madrid.

But Aguero, who was City's 28-goal top scorer this season, has insisted he will remain in Manchester in a bid to win more silverware as manager Manuel Pellegrini's targets an era of dominaton after their Premier League title triumph this season.

"I'll be back next year even stronger to win more trophies," Aguero said on City's open-top bus parade around Manchester on Monday. "I'm so happy. It was an amazing moment to win another title."

The 25-year-old scored the goal that won City the title in 2012 and also helped them lift the Capital One Cup this season.

He has struck 75 times in just 99 starts for the club during his three years in England, reportedly attracting the interest of Barcelona as well as Real Madrid, but he committed his future to City by signing a four-year contract extension last season.

Aguero's fellow Argentine Pablo Zabaleta said the next step for City is to try and win the Champions League.

They reached the last 16 of the competition for the first time this season, before being knocked out by Barcelona, but the right-back said the City players dream of conquering Europe.

"The Champions League is a competition where if you make one mistake, you are out," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"The Premier League is different, it's week in, week out. You have 38 games and if you drop points, you have the chance to win the next game.

"We know how difficult it is to reach the final of the Champions League and win it. I think these players are thinking about it. Looking forward, it's a competition we are very excited about trying to win."

Those days are over, Kun is going nowhere this or next season. There was more chance of it happening with Barca last year and they failed and got Naymar.

We've a squad full of hispanic players, who speak Spanish, Basque or Portuguese, the manager's South American, and we have a pretty strong Argentine contingent at the club. He said he's happy and has done at every point he's had to, when the rumor mill starts. The club have made it as comfortable as possible for him this season after all the shit last one.

We are passed the time where we as fans look in trepidation at who is coming in for our own players and who we "can't" keep hold of. Those days are gone, All that is old City, three years ago, history. Now we're looking like a serious attraction for most of the world football, its others that need to worry about us going in for their top players, not the other way around.
