That only confirms what I said, other benefit to us that was kind of the point. You really got me with a small % of people killed chickens 80 years ago though:-)That’s because we have learned that dogs can offer other benefits to us other than eating them (except for certain parts of the world) through work, companionship or entertainment. And also other food is readily available from animals less able to do such things. It’s not really that odd. As for actually killing the animal for one’s own food, this was still commonplace up to the last war with chickens for example.
