Kyle Walker : 2018/19 performances

Given the choice of anyone else in the league, I still prefer Walker at RB. Generally solid on defense - contributes enough for us on offense given that our right winger is going to shoulder most of the attacking responsibility. As others have said - he's having a dip in form at the moment which I expect he'll work his way out of.

Does anyone have a theory on why Walker seems to have dropped off a cliff performance wise recently? Apologies if it’s been addressed but I don’t have the time or inclination to read the whole thread from a few weeks back ... Is he carrying an injury, seems to have lost a yard of pace ??
Not having a pop at him, I love him to bits, just a bit worrying seeing him performing a few notches lower than he’s capable of.

Fucking hell lol,if you were blue you would know danny is not playing because he has been injured for ages, pep has asked him to stay back a lot of times, you are comparing him to our 2 CB's
You know what pisses me off Karen is all these so called fans having a go about kw and other players that City and Pep have wasted money on, they weren’t complaining last season were they (short memories) A mate of mine just plain and simple has it in for kw and Eddie constantly complains how shit they are, he can’t wait for them to mess up so he can prove how right he is. What is up with these fuckers there supposed to be city fans, get behind them.

Some pretty blatant and shameless revisionism going on in this thread. Walker completely revolutionised our play last season and has deservedly been named the best right-back in the Premier League three times during his career, twice in the last two seasons. He's not playing very well at the moment but this hasn't been an ongoing problem with him - some of the criticism of him in this thread is bordering on nonsense. "He was never an excellent player, just an excellent athlete" is complete tosh. Danilo deserves a run now, yes, if only to give Walker the rest he so clearly needs and give him a kick up the arse, but to re-evaluate Walker's entire career after his only dodgy spell in a blue shirt is unbelievable.

He certainly revolutionised my thoughts on getting to the FA Cup final last season that's for sure, and I also keep having flash backs as to his revolutionary defending at Anfield last season as well, but unfortunately Danilo isn't the answer neither

We definitely have supporters who find it easier to criticise a number our players rather than support, them when things not going 100% right.

Sad but true we have some " entitled " supporters .

But you have got to be realistic FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM,it's not a case of saying he's shit, and he's shit, but none are exempt from criticism, especially if they in poor form.

That pisses me off, everyone remembering last season, were as I just put on a previous post he was hardly brilliant at times then as well, but we keep hoping

Kyle needs a good rest to recharge, he is a winner and will come back as strong as ever that’s his mentality

Can player never be out of form on here??? The best right back in the league last season. Goes out of form and now he isn’t good enough - according to a few who’ve come out of the woodwork.

Great player who looks burnt out.

To be honest Kyle looks like he's knackered..he's not really had a break since the start of last season so it's understandable.
Yeah giving Danillo a few games might be a good idea so Kyle gets a break but we need him back for the dippers game as he is a bloody good player as well as a good athlete.
Hopefully Kyle will be back to his best after a little rest.

What I actually said is that the hierarchy at Spurs thought he was past his best which is pretty much exactly what Pochettino said, according to the article. I didn’t embellish or interpret the words in any way.
What could he say? they are pinching one of our best players?

To a large extent Walker is being hung out to dry. He is clearly mentally and physically shot and has been for some time yet he has to play nearly every game as Danilo always seems to have mystery injuries that means he is rarely available to play other than for Brazil. Kyle really needs an extended break to recharge and refocus but unless Danilo is available for an extended run of games (& that hasn't been the case whilst he has been at the club) then he isn't going to get one.

Unfortunately we have signed two chronic sicknotes in both Danilo and Mendy and it's definitely a factor in our recent drop off in form.
Lack of cover on full back and defensive midfield - which unfortunately is precisely the zones where we need fresh, fast legs to deal with the typical counterattack tactics used by most of our opponents

I think this sums it up, wish Danillo wasnt another Roque, but he seems to be. Kyle needs a rest.

Walker will return tonight , he has lost focus in his recent games , his concentration levels have been poor , Pep would have been in his head for the last few days , he was the best right back in europe last season , i think he will come back into the side tonight fully motivated by being dropped and aiming to prove a few people wrong .Hope he smashes into Mane in the first few minutes , same with all the team we need to snap into tackles and hunt them down for 90 minutes

Being down to 10 men after a few minutes won't help us.

I disagree, I’m hoping Danilo starts tonight at right back, let Kyle stick to doing his break dance routine that he recently been seen doing on social media
