Kyle Walker joins Burnley (pg5)

You have to give Kyle Walker credit for wanting to play football. It would have been easy to have stayed in the background and taken the money. Kyle first went to AC Milan to play, and now he's going to Burnley. He wants to play football at a good level. Good Luck to him.
His problem will be that his main weapon, extreme pace, is diminished.

The man was more than just pace. Intelligence on the ball, making the right passes at the right time, pulling a group of players together, and his pedigree from his years at City.

He still has pace too tbh. I have a feeling he will be very important to Burnley this season.

I'm not going to concentrate on mistakes, everyone makes them, he doesn't make that many anyway.

Arguably the best right back in the premier league and instrumental to our success and the way we played. Likes of Vinicius and mpabbe couldn’t outrun him and he even used to goad them into trying to outrun him.

Was sad last year when traroe from Fulham was able to rinse him for pace.

Either him or G Neville for best premier league right back.
ask mr goater that. ?

Best of luck at your new club, Kyle.

Along with Pep’s coaching, he redefined the rôle of a full-back in football, and his speed across the field was instrumental in what Pep wanted to achieve at City.

If anyone doubted how quick Kyle Walker was in his prime, they only had to witness his performances against Réal Madrid in the Champions League, where he consistently outsprinted Vinicius jr, and I was privileged to have a great view of their battle.

Thank you for your great contribution to the success that Manchester City has enjoyed over the past eight years.

It's very unlikely he'll be sprinting 50 yards chasing a centre forward
Next season Burnley will be under the cosh an awful lot, defending for their lives and Walker will have far less ground to cover
Exactly. How he performs next season will either make or break my argument.

For clarity I never said he was just pace. I said his pace got him out of the shit an awful lot. I’m not disputing he was a perfect fit for us but he made too many mistakes and lost concentration too many times to be considered the best fullback in the league.

I also said I was going against consensus:)

His problem will be that his main weapon, extreme pace, is diminished.

It's the first thing that goes, it stands out like a flashlight going off. He was a great signing for Pep and City, with his recovery pace being outstanding

Lineker's snide comment back in 2017...

Speaking to The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker said: “I kind of upset him, I think, a little bit. I was a bit of a Spurs man [and] he left Spurs - can you remember what his price was now? 50, 60 million? I think it was £50m.

“Occasionally I get myself in trouble with tweets... and I tweeted something along the lines of 'What a player, imagine how much they'd have had to pay if he could cross the ball’.”

Lineker added: “I shouldn't have done it really and I think it upset him a little bit".

Must’ve been a poisonous split for him not to make a post thanking the club and the fans, 8 years and was our captain.

Even Anthony Gordon had the decency to thank the Evertonians when he bailed.

Good move for everyone involved.

He’s unquestionably City’s, England’s and the Premier Leagues greatest ever RB. Brilliant career and will add a lot of experience to Burnley’s squad.
