Kyle Walker joins Burnley (pg5)

Good move for everyone involved.

He’s unquestionably City’s, England’s and the Premier Leagues greatest ever RB. Brilliant career and will add a lot of experience to Burnley’s squad.
Oh no. Englands best right back post war was Jimmy Armfield. Not sure about the other claims.

His first aim will be Sat 27 Sep away to Manchester City and we all know what's coming

Lineker's snide comment back in 2017...

Speaking to The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker said: “I kind of upset him, I think, a little bit. I was a bit of a Spurs man [and] he left Spurs - can you remember what his price was now? 50, 60 million? I think it was £50m.

“Occasionally I get myself in trouble with tweets... and I tweeted something along the lines of 'What a player, imagine how much they'd have had to pay if he could cross the ball’.”

Lineker added: “I shouldn't have done it really and I think it upset him a little bit".
Well, I agree with Lineker. Walker couldn’t cross for toffee. I’m not diminishing his other talents but crossing was not his forte.

I hope that by the end of the summer we will see the same farewell picture for:

- Jack Grealish
- McAtee
- Manuel Akanji
- Ilkay Gundogan
- Mateo Kovačić
Gundogan is sticking around. Kovacic maybe but again Pep seems to rate him too ahead of Nico Gonzalez.

What a fantastic 8 years at the club and an amazing PL right-back. Prime Walker would still comfortably be the best RB in the league today, and it’s no coincidence that we’ve been leaky at the back since he dropped in form. Wish him all the best at Burnley!

Was class for us. He let his cock do his talking for him off the pitch but on the pitch in his prime was a monster.
He was always the insurance at the back if we got caught short. How we could do with someone like him now.
Wish him all the best.
Great point, especially with Dias and his poor poor defending. He has a fit bird mind!!!

Absolute brilliant message to the fans imo you’ve gone on legendary status Kyle always welcome back at the Etihad
I’ve not seen his message to the fans as not on social media other than here. What did he say?
A fantastic player for us, played his part in the most successful period in our clubs history.
Age caught up with him and once his pace had gone he was a shadow of the player he once was. One season too many for us but that might be said about a number of players.
Good luck at Burnley.

Good luck. Only those that follow Gary Neville will have an issue with Walker.
Not sure about that, great player and deserves all the accolades, however when you captain f#cks off mid season when team in the spot they were does leave a bitter taste.
Will still applaud him when returns, unless runs his mouth off now he’s gone.
