Kyle Walker

He'll bring some much needed physicality to the team, along with Mendy. We've been a bit lightweight over recent years, and other teams have bullied us at times. A back five of Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Otamendi and Mendy gives us a physical presence.
He does come across a bit thuggish tbh.. maybe thats why many are on the fence about him... thugs are what we need, I'm sure Fernandinho can learn from him..

or vice versa. ;)

Best RB in the premier league, at the peak of his ability, has a great amount of yearscleft in him, homegrown, has cut out his defensive mistakes, Englands no.1 RB.

He is exactly what our team needed and Pep wanted. Pep will make him a better player also. We have paid over the odds but that is because we have dealt with Levy who is very shrewd in his business.

Great signing

Has he cut out the defensive mistakes? Iceland's equaliser vs England at the Euro's last year was scored in part due to Walker's ball watching. As a couple of Spurs fans have said to me, he's an incredible athlete but completely braindead.

He's a damn sight better than Stones was when we paid £50m for him, put it that way. Money is utterly ridiculous now so i don't get why anyone is 1) acting surprised and 2) arsed.

Even bottom of the table teams can splash 30m on a player these days. 10m players are now 30m (Keane) and 30m ones are now 50. Walker etc.

Just how it is. And for those honestly acting like Trippier is better. Wind it in. Walker was dropped to a disagreement, probs due to this. Nothing more nothing less. Even though it doesn't feel an exciting signing it's probably one of those we'll look back at and go 'well he was v fucking useful for a few years'. He'll fit in with no problems at all and sometimes that's just as important.

For me, Walker and Mendy are the most important signings of the summer, even above Silva and Sanchez.....Pep needs these 2 to be able to play his system, without them, his hands are tied. We half way there...now need to get Mendy over the line!;)

The key word in that sentence as always is Kompany. He's the difference between winning the league and not even coming close. I agree from a physicality point of view we will be more sound next season but if we have another season where kompany sits out injured I think we will find ourselves in a similar situation. He makes that much of a difference.

No offence but I feel people might be more inclined to listen if those who slate him if they could come up with a little more than one example which contributed (note didn't cost, but contributed) to a goal in a game that happened over a year ago, I'm not going to argue he is the perfect defender, practically every defender makes mistakes here and there, thats how goals get scored, but you don't get voted into teams of the year if your'e not the best or at the very least one of the best in a specific position. As I said earlier I fear this poor lad's card is marked before he even kicks a ball. We have our new boo boy.
