Not really sure what you mean. Disappointment won't be a consequence for me on this one as I'm not arsed whether Walker comes or not, the sun comes up and the sun goes down.
 
At the risk of being pulled into other people's arguments, surely the fact Walker is English is a big factor. There may be better RBs available for a similar or lower price but who then do we jettison to stay within squad rules? Perhaps he is not the best option in that position but the best option for the squad.

Ahh you old demented circus clown, we signed Bernardo Silva 5 days after the season ended even if he is to join on July 1st.
Could've done something similar with Walker and THEN release the full backs, yeah?

Nope, those released players and their agents would have demanded to know,they were being released and look for new clubs weeks before the end of the season and woulld have been looking for new clubs. It would have been common knowledge.

The only reason I see us pushing out the boat for Walker is because City have looked at their squad and decided RB has to be English due to the foreign players elsewhere. Personally, I was surprised City let Angus Gunn go out on loan, as I thought he was going to be the third keeper. Are they thinking they are going to keep Hart as #2/3 with Bravo? If not, then who is keeper #3?

It'll be interesting to see what the Final 25 looks like, because I don't see much British talent out there.

I'm actually wondering if we are going to even play with "real" full backs next season and think that based on the way other teams set up against us, we may simply play 3-5-1, with the outside midfielders on the opposite side of defending play having to drop in on the back post to cover the possible runner?!

No problem with 3 at the back, but I'd always favour starting with 11

Very sound advise. People do get a bit carried away and go up and down with each report, be it media or "ITK". I cannot reiterate enough how there is no such thing as done until the all the paperwork is done and the club announces it. Yes there are people who come on this site who clearly have well sourced info, as do some journos, some of the time so you may be able to see how the wind is blowing but it can always get blown off course.

In this case, it seems a fair bet that City want Walker and he wants to move here but there's no guarantee Levy won't unfurl a huge windbreak.
