It is possible Bayern/and or City gave him a deadline to decide, and that's before our Asian Tour, so it makes sense for both parties to sort it out one way or another.

I suspect that he will go now. It's not just his age, but a 33 year old shouldn't be going out on the keg and getting his whopper out in bars. He should know better.

He's been brilliant for us, but other than the off the field stuff, he's not going to keep his pace forever and I don't see him as a particularly flexible player. If we're going to carry on playing with the central defenders next season we're not likely to be playing him apart from the odd game against Vinicius/Mbappe.

If that's the case we must be making a big signing elsewhere in the midfield?

I just can't believe that for the 4 positions behind the striker, you'd be happy for us to go into next season with 5 senior players?

Foden, Bernardo, De Bruyne, Kovacic, Grealish. You could argue Alvarez can play there, but he's our backup striker - we can't rely on him in other positions in case he's needed up front.

I hesitate to even include Kovacic because he does his best work deeper in midfield.

In Gundo and Mahrez (if he is going) we've lost 26 goals and 20 assists from last season.

So far we've brought in Kovacic, who got a grand total of 2 goals and 2 assists. That's a massive loss.

We also chased Bellingham and Rice for big money so obviously want a top class midfielder added to the squad still
