Shoehorning Phil into Mahrez' position for next season simply means we'll need to find a replacement for Phil. We need to buy a Mahrez replacement if he goes. Plus, hasn't there been indications Phil will play central next season?

I don't know where the Phil going central narrative is coming from?

I know that's where we would all like to see him, but Pep has constantly said he needs to slow things down in his head to play there every week?

Perhaps that time has come, but he is a world class talent and needs to be starting every week, that right side is there for him right now.

From all the training videos Phil has been posting during the summer, I get a sense he is ready to explode and be the best player in the country next season.

Everybody talks about Phil being a great player, but nobody is yet describing him as a pivotal one, but that should change with his talent.

Memory serves me right, think it was Pep himself who said he’d be playing more centrally, then a couple of times late in season he came on and played centrally whilst Bernie stayed out wide.

We have but it would be better to get the players in and settled before late September.

I suspect we are in no rush because the players we want aren't wanted by others/not on the obvious radar/already agreed.

Letting everybody else run around while we sort the outgoings first.

Yeah but no but.
Palmer didn’t play a lot in that RW position last season. There was always Mahrez, Foden or Bernardo in front of him.
The lad has a way of moving that reminds me of Waddle and I’d be looking to give him more game time at RE next season

The Waddle comparison is a very good one, never seen that one before.

Languid, I think they call it!

The Wythenshawe Waddle, I like it!!

Yep, the whole 'pausa' references to the position required.

Up to now, I think Phil still plays the central game more like Gazza, when Pep wants him to calm down and be more Iniesta?

Caceido?

Love that player.

are we brave enough to go big enough on one big transfer though mate? I`m sure Brighton would sell to us but we dont seem to have the appetite for another £100m plus transfer? Caicedo, Frenkie, Kimmich and the likes of them should be being chased imo

Wherever he plays think we are all on the same page that it’s a huge season for Phil and time he made himself one of the first names on the teamsheet.
