There was a rumour that he has a release clause for champions league clubs which is why Chelsea are having so much trouble agreeing a fee. Would be interesting if true. Personally I would love to see us move for him he can play as a 6, an 8 and a right back.

Wasn't aware of that?

He's very raw but I think he is already an excellent player.

Certainly not any worse than Rice.

I don't know where the Phil going central narrative is coming from?

I know that's where we would all like to see him, but Pep has constantly said he needs to slow things down in his head to play there every week?

Perhaps that time has come, but he is a world class talent and needs to be starting every week, that right side is there for him right now.

From all the training videos Phil has been posting during the summer, I get a sense he is ready to explode and be the best player in the country next season.

Everybody talks about Phil being a great player, but nobody is yet describing him as a pivotal one, but that should change with his talent.
The best compliment I could give him is that when KdB went off in the CL final Phil coming on didn't seem in any way a downgrade. He's had a so so season due to really copping a few injuries for the first time in his career.
He'll fly next season I am sure.

Not that I particularly believe it, but at that price it would be worth just keeping him for his final year and letting him go for free next season. I know the club won't stand in any player's way when they want the move, but they have also clearly shown that the right offer needs to be there.
We won't get a big fee so it would be worth keeping him a year in many respects but not against his will.

It’s only a rumour which are plentiful this time of year. Can’t see us getting involved despite the bids for Bellingham and Rice. Feels like we’re put a lot of stock in Bernardo staying, hopefully that the club know his intentions at this stage.

Still feels like we’re a midfielder short even if Bernardo stays, KDB, Kovacic, Phillips eve. Foden have had injury issues in recent times. Rodri, Foden and Bernardo may have to play an awful lot of football next season.

I'd have Leroy back and have him rotating left and right.

That would be what I'd do. Leroy gives off all the vibes of a man who regrets leaving and would come back in an instant.

Given that we could lose a few players who are dirlled in Pep's ways, bringing someone in who already knows them has appeal; especially when they are the most exciting player we've seen during the Pep era.

Leroy has asked Pep if there is any way back.

He carries a goal threat out wide we have never replaced.
