Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid Player (pg620)

In what way is playing in the weakest league in Europe admirable?

It became his preference when they offered him ridiciulous fees and the French president got involved. He was running his contract down and shafting them for a free transfer before that.

He has shown he can join up to a national super team and win a world cup. He has done nothing in the CL.
He has played in the UCL final, same as City. You wouldn't call our journey to the UCL final nothing or would you? Posts like this just come off as being bitter. The kid is a world class player and there's no denying that. He has atleast 2 Balon d'ors in his football career. Its really just a matter of time.

Swanning about in Nice, Monaco or Marseille is all fine and dandy. A wet midweek evening in the Potteries in november is THE acid test for any potential target, however. It'd be interesting to see his face running onto the pitch at Stoke, a force 9 gale blowing and freezing rain coming down at 45°.

So he did the run to the CL final by himself did he?
Should we put Mbappe alongside Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres, they were sat on the bench in Porto so they have as much success as he does in the competition. Reached a final.

What is bitter about it, you simply cannot argue he is testing himself at the highest level right now and perhaps never will. I dont see any posts disputing his ability. Arguing that its all fine and dandy that hes playing in Ligue 1 is just ridiculous.

You seriously think that the French league is the weakest in Europe? mobile.gif

Are you including all PSG players out.
Neymar, Veratti and the 'greatest payer ever" are on the same team

I presume he means the weakest of the so called big 5.
I was guessing that alright but its vlassed as one of the Big 5. Standard is surely as good as Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch Belgium etc.
Neymar and Messi were with Barcelona and ditched them for the easier life too.

Your last line reinforces his point, mate.

And the stupid amount of money possibly ?

Would it be in the top 5,though? If you go with English, Spanish, Italian and German as the top 4 (in whatever order), would you rate Ligue 1 as stronger than the Dutch and Portuguese leagues? Serious question, not wumming this time. I think there's more decent sides in those 2 leagues than there is in France.

Seeing as City has been knocked out of the UCL twice by two separate teams from the shitty ligue 1, I would like to think that the ligue 1 is the fifth if not the fourth best league in Europe.

Not for me. But I'm not going to argue/debate it all night, particularly as I'm going to be out later on.

PSG > Ajax
Lyon > PSV
Marseille > Feyenoord
Monaco, Lille, Lens, Rennes > Every other team in the Eredivise

Turkey is the same although has 3 or 4 huge clubs as opposed to just 2 in Holland.
Portugal is not far behind France if at all.

This is how I would place them. Obviously UEFA coefficients are one thing but only take the last few years into account.

Tier 1: Premier League, La Liga
Tier 2: Serie A, Bundesliga
Tier 3: Ligue 1, Liga Portugal
Tier 4: Süper Lig, Eredivisie
Tier 5: Belgian First Division, SPL, Austrian Bundesliga etc.
