I’m not certain but I don’t think there is a direct correlation between people writing a player off after a couple of games and their market value. He’ll likely want to run his contract down.

For the same reason we could look at Neymar - horrible ego - but talent in undoubted and would play well in a Pep system.

I am certain that there’s a direct correlation between someone having a great International tournament and their value sky rocketing.

Look at James Rodriguez, El Haj Diouff, Phil Babb as examples :-)
