Kylian Mbappé | Real Madrid Player (pg620)

My eyes are bleeding...

The teenager is doing this at 19 y.o and you're comparing him to Vardy ?

Read my earlier posts. Like Vardy has been, he is not effective against a deep block with no space to use his pace. Hence France when playing against a deep block the lad did Jack shit in his first three matches, one of which he was benched. Vardy the same when he has come on against a deep block defence, created and did Jack shit. Back to the lad he came alive against a shite Argentina team who opened up like a tin of sardines when they were chasing the game ( No pun intended) 95 percent of the teams we played last season sat deep, opening up deep lying defences at this stage does not appear to be his strength.
Counters and open games seem to be his bread and butter which I can guess will be 90 percent of his goals on the attached youtube showreel. Gi PSG probably have the same issue as City with teams sitting back. 13 goals all last season in a shit league against deep lying defences tells me all I need to know. He ain't even near ready for City.

Just watched 2 mins of the YouTube clips and stopped. Had to laugh. Against which team in the prem do you think the lad will get that kind of space. Good player. Vardyesque in his strengths, pace. Not right for City yet. Let him develop.

On a final note. If I could pick a player alternative to Mbappe, who I think would fit City's system perfectly. It would be Son at Tottenham. Not a big name I accept but similar to Jesus, I think, but perhaps a touch more clinical at this stage in his career. He would be perfect.

That goal he scored in the box his composure and quick feet got him that goal he doesn’t need space but it helps the kid if he does have.

True but you look at the YouTube clips I was sent. That's not his strength, open spaces, counters and pace are. Everything City don't get a luxury of throughout the season as teams rarely come onto us.

With pep though he coaches the payers to have space we have sterling and Sane who are rapid they have been two of our best players last season.

He's not just super-quick but technically outstanding. The only player I have seen who has quicker feet than Raheem Sterling. If you want a player who can unlock a tight defence with minimal space I would look to a player like Mbappe. Why do you think we spent most of last Summer trying to buy Mbappe before PSG took the deal out of our reach?

No. I think you'll find they have just denied an offer- there is the world of difference

Wednesday.

"Real Madrid has not made any offers to PSG or the player and regrets the dissemination of this type of information," a club statement read.
When it comes to Madrid it's the same thing, they like tapping up players through the media.

Mbappe needs to tell RM to fuck off, rather PSG dominate for next few years in CL rather that the spanish rags.

If he played up top

I know what you mean but Sane and Sterling are different players plus it arguably took them some considerable time to adjust, probably a season? Further where they tend to play on the flanks they tend to have more space when are inverted full backs start doing their thing. He would be playing I presume up top with two centre half's and possibly a DM, on his case. I don't see in his game at this time a strength of him coming deep like jesus and like aguero has had to learn to do to make are system work. However his moves to the point I was trying to make several threads ago. 150-200 Mill plus for a forward who you might have to train on the merits of a false 9. I dunno, he just doesn't seem ready for are system.

Not if it affects the price they get for the tranny. They don't want to be seen to need to get rid on the cheap
It won't affect anything with that club. They pay and get top dollars for players and have for a long time.

From what I understand it was the boy who made the decision, not necessarily Pgs courting of him. Secondly, it's clear he is quick, but as I said in an earlier post it took sane and sterling the best part of a season to get to grips with peps system, and their both rapid as fuck. No my issue is that I'm yet to see him play that suarez, firminio type role. The false 9, who peels away from centre halves to create havoc on whether the centre half should follow him, creating space for de bruyne, silva or sterling. He does not play this way. The false 9 role he would be required to play for city, does not require him to be Usain bolt. I don't see it at this stage. Jesus is the perfect example of what I'm talking about dropping deep suckling centre halves out to enable others to rack up the goals, whilst chipping in himself. Unless city wanted to go back to having a specialist which is what aguero is before pep realised he needed more. Mbappe's attributes at this stage don't seem a good fit.

Sorry about the typos

Sane is our mbappe
Good point. I ll go one further though at the risk of setting off fireworks. I reckon that mbappe at this stage would arguably be more effective for them lot over in Trafford than he would for City. He would be the upgrade on lukaku who similarly likes those open spaces to exploit defender's pace. The way them lot sit back to counter on the break would be perfect for the lad as he would be the focal point as is lukaku for much of their attacks on the break. You only have to look at the initial issues between aguero and Pep to see we are far more demanding of are forwards. Aguero banging in goals for Pep weren't enough. Aguero had to learn quick he was no longer the focal point of are attack but instead one of many facilitators of are attacks with goal taking responsibilities.
