If you’ve got a player with a year left that’s agreed to join another club at the end of that year, won’t extend and you feel like you don’t even want to play him…. why does the fee have to be as high as €300m? Surely even a third of that, or even less, would be accepted by PSG since the bridges have been burned and it’s a damn sight better than getting nothing. It’s the kind of fee that you’d expect PIF to buy a Newcastle player for just to boil some piss. Bit dodgy.

These Saudi deals have put football in uncharted waters and UEFA and FIFA along with the American owners have big problems.

Except PSG are owned by Qatar who currently are only just thawing relations with the Saudis - the border and trade between the 2 countries ceased for a good few years and has I think only recently started back up. Might be a way of helping that relationship thaw more quickly but why is it fraudulent ?
