Natural centre mid - not Silva or KDB. They're attacking mids. Guardiola played Alonso, Vidal and Thiago in front of the defence when he went 3 at the back at Bayern. Playing Sterling and Sané out wide in that system either leaves us light at the back or reduces their effectiveness.They aren't wingbacks though. What is a "natural" central midfielder? Javier Mascherano isn't a "natural" centreback, but that hasn't stopped him from winning 4 leagues, 2 Champions leagues and everything else at Barcelona.

As we've done with the ball when Yaya played this year. He wasn't doing it with Ribery and Robben playing at full back/wing back though.Also this is not really true. I think if you look up the lineups most of the time they played 3 at the back, Alonso was one of the defenders.
We've looked wide open with Silva as a centre mid at times this season so you're making my point for me here, the switch to playing 2 of Dinho/Delph/Yaya would suggest the manager sees it that way as well.Silva is hardly an attacking mid in the traditional sense any more, he's playing much deeper and making more tackles/interceptions/breaking up play more than anyone you could call an attacking midfielder.
He doesn't have to play the 3 you mentioned. He could easily play Fernandinho, Gundogan and Silva and have more than enough.
