I suppose its a matter of opinion I would rather play a proven goalscore and experienced player than an unproven youth player also even if we did give him a 3 yr contract teams would take him on a free of us!!!

Yes that's his main position NOW. For the majority of the games you quoted his stats for, he was forced onto the win because of Ibrahimovic.

Yeah there is that but it still doesn't excuse the sitters he consistently misses, Aguero roams about all over the place he'd still be banging those in especially against the competition in France if they put him out on the left. I thought it was off the mark to suggest he's a better striker just because he's having his best season ever(could easily go back to the player from last season), it's not like he's been doing this for years and even then Aguero has played 180mins less than him in the same competition this season and only scored 3 less, so even on this seasons form you can't make a strong case at all.

It is getting way too off topic anyway... we should leave it there or move it to the Aguero thread. It's not the only off topic conversation going on in this thread either, haha mods gonna be mad.

Great thread. The mere fact that a few of the older posters are ready to pass the baton from Kun to a new front line is enough for me. Kun's a legend. That's undeniable. But...let's get better and grow. The youth and fluidity of Mbappe, Jesus, Sane, Sterling.....are you kidding me? That's silly. Just silly. We 'gambled' on 3 of them and that's been a win a massive win. Why stop there? Trust the process.

You guys know Pep isn't quitting after 3 years here after not winning a CL with Bayern right? His whole legacy is tied to us. Sergio doesn't cut it... Under this system... Let the man do his work (city will). It's time to move on to a new era IMO.

I know this isn't the sergio thread but that's what every thread with a major forward boils down to so GL keeping that clean FI :)

In that case KDB should be shitting his pants because he looks like a fish out of water this season in Peps team, no movement, can't score , half arsed tackling and pressing, Sergio puts twice the work in that Kevin does.

I thought it was a terrible decision to drop him deeper. I also thought it was a bad sign that Pep commented that he saw him as a wide player :/

I also wanted Kante...badly. but he wasn't a 'pep player' I was told. If we're talking about pep he has room fpr criticism FWIW
 
Can we keep the chat on here to Mbappe? I get all excited seeing the thread bumped, only to find it's flb posting his usual negative shit about players/Pep like this is the main forum or something.

People to stay on topic?

It's April for every transfer, and they are all long shots to a degree, that doesn't make it OK to go into transfer target threads and derail them into a discussion on players we currently have and/or the manager.

I happen to agree with most of what you said, re Aguero, but giving flb any platform to air his tired negativity is unacceptable, particularly since many come to this particular sub-forum to escape it.

Touche..touche that's fair. I think it's fair game to go off topic in the transfer forum outside of transfer windows but I don't run the place :P. To add to the conjecture of this thread..impossible deal from my end :(

KDB isn't performing good enough , I'm right behind Aguero as he's taken pelters off plenty on here recently for allegedly not performing , being shit in front of goal and not adapting - neither has Kevin at least of late Aguero has upped his game and it wasn't even that bad in the first place.

Yesterday I pointed out the mis management from the club in regard to its player purchases and running down contracts all at once- only fir you to say virtually the same a few pages later, this and the last two seasons haven't been good enough, if you think it's great and everything is rosey then good for you, there were plenty of other posters saying the same since the Arsenal game .

Anyway back to Mbappe , do we really need him? No for me as we have enough top drawer fire power up front.

KDB is being told to play deeper because our midfield isn't good enough. Yayas out of form, gundogan is out injured, dinho isn't good enough going forward and silva is more effective playing further forward than he is playing deeper.
