nail on the head! if gundogan had stayed fit then kev would be playing where he was when he terrorised barca but he is currently playing in the position at the minute to help the team!!

It isnt right though.

When Silva plays that role, we were far,far superior than when Kev plays it. I think Pep's ruining Kev's overall game in that position, whereas Silva looks phenomenal in it.
 
KDB has the most assists in Europe's top five leagues this season, yet the usual suspects are so desperate to play the "Pep's ruining him" card they are even invading the Kylian Mbappe thread with it.

Would be nice if we got back on topic here.

well at the start of the season silva was deeper and de bruyne in front and that went ok didn't it? when we were struggling against barca at home pep swapped it for the 2nd half and moved de bruyne central and he ripped barca a new one! de bruyne`s problem at the minute is he gets tired quick when playing his current position which leads to his passing going to shite! he looks pissed off at the minute as well and started the snidey fouls and gobbing at the ref.

Against Barca, both of them were deep alright. But it hasnt worked as well since. I'm sure there's a statto that could highlight it somehow, but we were mauling teams with Silva deeper than Kev, but with Kev in that role we lose a tempo plus Kev is a far better attacking threat than David in terms of personal goal attempts.

I do think if we get him Pep will try and deploy him in a similar way to how Wenger used Henry, in that sort of half winger/ half striker position.
 
How much did United pay for Martial? I suspect Monaco will want considerably more for Mbappe, who already looks like the superior player of the two.

Whilst I have only seen him in Monaco's two Champions' League ties against us, he does seem like a phenomenal talent. The same could be said of Bernardo Silva, Fabinho and Bakayoko, too.

If we are in the hunt for Mbappe, I imagine we will face stiff competition from other leading clubs across Europe.
 
I know there is the fear if we don't sign him someone else will but it always feels there is a new "superstar" youth player who emerges each year who might be the next best thing. If we let this one go, there will be another to show up soon enough who might not cost a ridiculous amount.

For the prices being rumoured and the fact we already have Jesus, Brazils starting striker at 19 years old, I dont think we need to go crazy buying more forwards when we have more important areas to improve. Only way we I could see us spending that near that much is if Aguero leaves for big money.

Relax, guys. Fake news, obviously. According to transfermarkt, Mbappe's current contract expires in June, 2019. Even 18 yo Messi or Ronaldo Nazario wouldn't attract 100m bids with only 2 years remaining.
