Madrid is the dream for most as a kid but the pressure of going there with that fee, the constant media at training and the fans who flip on their own after one bad game could be too much for him - especially after just 1 full season under his belt.
On the other hand he could find peace here, with a team filled with young attacking talent, two friends (if Mendy signs), a hugely successful manager who develops players and all the tools he needs to take his all round game to the next level.
My view (probably unpopular) is we're the best place for him because should he continue at the rate he did last season, there is no reason why he can't realise his dream of playing for Madrid in a few years given they are happy to pay big bucks when they want their man (see Ronaldo and Bale)
Coming to City makes absolute sense on so many levels. I wouldn't be surprised at all if ended up here before the window closes.
