Checked in here last night before I went to bed and was buzzing woke up today the same seen Pep on sky sports not denying it in fact hinting at it. Then drove to work with talksport on with a two liner "their sources say citys interest is fabricated to make madrid pay more and shouldnt there be a transfer cap!!!". If it was Utd who supposedly bid they would be going mental. I really hope we pull this off and stuff it down everyone throats.
 
Monaco want to sell this summer, imo, as his stock is high. IF they kept him for another season whose to say he doesn't have a shitter? Unlikely he'd sign an extension either so with 2 years to go then now is the time. Whether we have officially bid or not is irrelevant, I certainly believe the story from France about Pep meeting with the lad, and consequently it's us or Madrid this summer, simples. Of course you'd have them down as the favourites but anything can happen in a 2 horse race, especially when we have Pep as the jockey. Chill and enjoy the ride!
 
Some players within the squad are immune to criticism on here, based on their age. If Mbappe is signed for a world record fee, when does he have to start producing the goods?

It's laughable now how they pander to those rag cnuts! Gleefully playing a clip of Mourinho moaning about transfer fees, whilst ignoring the fact he's paid nearly £200mil on two players alone!!!
Then the Mbappe story – if they had bid for him or were linked with him, the media would be salivating at the possibility – we're linked and suddenly football's gone crazy and there should be a transfer cap!

He will be part of a team that will need to be producing the goods. No one individual makes a team.

Thanks. Ornstein does add a line to his tweet "have no intention of pursuing him at prices being quoted" . It's not a flat denial, more we want to negotiate the price down.

Very little to go on, but I'm thinking if we can agree a deal with Monaco we can get the player. In the past we've been able to agree deals with clubs, but the player has always opted for Barcelona, AC Milan etc. This time I think we could do it, but the hardest thing is going to be to agree a deal with Monaco as Real Madrid could financially take it beyond us if they want
 
We have a chance, if it happens the rags will be throwing themselves of Stockport viaduct like lemmings.
