It's pretty odd that the club are briefing different stuff to journalists in the UK than those on the tour.

So City journos were last night briefed, along with most tabloids, that we had bid/were about to bid £143m for him... and then this morning other journos contacted the club for confirmation and they said we haven't and won't bid that amount.

I don't really know what we stood to gain from the initial brief?

It's pretty odd that the club are briefing different stuff to journalists in the UK than those on the tour.

Possibly a way of trying to throw people off the scent keep them gussing or maybe there's a miscommunication, club officials over here not being up to date with current info? Although I doubt the latter in this day and age.
It does seem an odd tactic because all the info does read like there has been briefs from the club.

I don't get how Brennan has a job. Considering he's on our doorstep, the club continuously give him no information or even misinformation at times, yet he plods it out time and time again. The guy is a joke.

A bit harsh that mate, Brennan does a good job of giving us ( the fans) a voice, read his articles and you can tell he takes City fan's perspective on board and argues our case well against the multitude of City haters in the press.

TBH, Soriano is in America with the team so I'd certainly be trusting the briefings from out there more than the UK.

Let's face it..if he were to goto Madrid he In reality will not be improving,testing improving his overall game .he will be going from a farmer's league to a league where real play only 2 decent teams a season where the prem is pretty full on...hopefully pep and the premier league and it's quality will be the pull

Yeah, it's a shame Messi never fulfilled his potential, and instead wasted his days in a farmer's league where he only played twice a season.

What is a formal bid? Verbal or written? Does the written offer have to be in the form of a contract or can it simply be on an email? I guess the games are well and truly underway.....
