I dunno mate, I expect that type of thing from players and managers when they're asked by members of the media, we've seen it countless times before that they'll lie through their teeth.
Our chairman doing it in a club edited interview though, completely different. Why would I or any City fan believe anything he has to say in future if it turns out Aguero does leave this summer?
I'm not completely ruling out that Aguero may leave this summer as you can never say never but I'll be seriously disappointed if it turns out that Khaldoon was lying to us.
Khaldoon said he won't be sold. If Aguero requested to leave, then would he stand in his way considering the long service Aguero has given blah blah.
It's the same with many high profile transfers and something we saw with Kaka. Milan wanted to sell to get the cash and he wanted to leave to get the salary, but both needed the other to instigate it. So Milan say they want to keep him as long as he wants to stay and Kaka says he's happy to stay as long as Milan want him and both sit there waiting to see who blinks first. In the end, both bottled it and he stayed until Madrid came back in the next year. It'll be the same with Aguero - we won't force him out, but he'll be 3rd choice, so depends if he's happy on the bench

Technically, he isn't lying, bud.
City won't willingly sell Sergio.
Entirely different matter if Kun came and asked to leave due to us signing two new strikers.
In suppose there is also an argument that you don't reveal your hand to the likes of Monaco and Arsenal by saying we are going to need to replace our best striker.
That also goes for any club wishing to buy Aguero and thinking they could get him on the cheap.
Personally, if we can afford it, we keep him for another season and he chips in with Sanchez and Mbappe.

Would be sad to see Aguero go. That said, we have never sold a player at their peak where from now on their value would plummet. BIG clubs know how to manipulate the market. And we want to be big, right? Mbappe has 10 years on Sergio
