Thanks, cool graph. I'll show it to everyone saying that Aguero is a superstar. Also, didn't expect Alexis to be that high. Wonder if there's similar stats related to % of chance convertion.

Agüero loses out here because of his complete lack of assists. Just 3 or 4 over the season and he'd be right up there.

Either way, we know he's had a difficult season. 2 suspensions and a complete overhaul of playing style is something I don't think anyone else on that list has had to go through this season, even if he's not in Peps plans, he's tried his best for the last 7 or 8 weeks and the results are starting to come with his 11 goals in 11 games.

Fair point. Also, including Italy and France is a bit misleading as both seem to be significantly weaker that La Liga, Prem or Bundesliga. It's not surprising that Mbappe's got so high as he plays for a dominant team in a relatively weak league: only Monaco and PSG players have got numbers to be on the graph. Another example is Mertens who is benefitting from Sarri's tactics, he' not that good actually.
Anyway, Mbappe is amazing. I wonder is there a large room left for him to improve? He already looks physically developed and tactically mature, like 25 y old.

That's something I think I've brought up on here before, he's physically very well developed for his age which gives him a clear cut advantage over his peers but should lower his overall ceiling as he gets older, for example if he fills out as most lads do in their early to mid twenties it'll negatively affect his pace and athleticism, he probably won't improve as much over the next 6 to 7 years as someone with less physical development.
The other worry is the Monaco/PSG Ligue 1 factor, we've seen plenty of players look like world beaters in that league only to struggle on moving abroad and he's playing for an extremely dominant, extremely high-scoring team which could be falsely inflating his goal scoring figures. He's done well in the knockout stages of the CL but 3 games is far too small a sample to take anything from and I think most on here would be happy to admit that we were poor defensively in both legs against Monaco, while Dortmund hardly had ideal preparations for the game.
All in all I'd be happy to leave him at Monaco for another season, to see how he gets on in another full season of competition in Europe and domestically, which should also show us how he adapts once teams start planning specifically to nullify him.

He's just turned 18.

He's not physically developed, I'm not entirely sure where that's come from, he weighs about 11 stone and is clearly very lightweight and it shows. He's much like Sterling was at that age.

He's not going to be at his fastest either, you only need to look at athletics to see that athletes aren't at their fastest when 18.

I'd also ask who exactly has looked like a world beater in Ligue 1 and then been shit over here?

Why on earth do you think he'll just wait around for us to sign him whenever we want? Chances are if we decide to wait, he's gone and is off limits to us forever, probably at Madrid where Zidane is a massive fan.

Yep, even more he's a huge Madrid and Cristiano fan. We have to get him this summer or never at all.

There are going to be abnormalities I.e. players who are having purple patch years. And all. But when an 18 year old leads the line, you simply have to pay attention. Bad players don't do this at 18. They just don't :(

Fuck that! Good players don't do this at 18 either. :-)

He's 5ft10 and weighs 11stone, that's not lightweight at all. I agree with aguero93:20 he clearly is more developed than most 18 year olds in the game(what's the first thing anyone says when they see him at the moment?... he's only 18?) that's his edge, along with his eye for goal and killer instinct(good with his feet but not the best at his age right now)... he's not running games on his own dictating play and I don't see him becoming that type of player, he's fast and he's powerful and that's no bad thing because those types of players tend to do very well in the game. Whether his ceiling will be lower compared to some of his peers, we'll have to wait and see(pointless even trying to predict that) but he seems more like someone who a Chelsea type team would develop than a Barca would.

Personally I think he will end up at Real and I don't believe we "have" to buy him at all costs, he's very good but we have too many other things to sort out to be breaking world record transfer fees on an 18 year old in my opinion.

Okay just in case folks didn't get the graph. The guy farthest right and at the top is actually the best...

Folks are saying he is doing well because he is dlmore developed than other 18 year-olds. Guys! He is not outperforming 18 year-olds though. He is outperforming everyone in Europe. 18 year-olds and non-18 year-olds.

His "early development" (if one was inclined to concede that point) only explains why he might be outperforming other 18 year olds. But it sure as shit dont explain why he is more efficient than Messi and the rest of the footballing world.

So focusing on whether he looks older than 18 or not (by the way I don't think he does) misses the point in my opinion.

Folks need to calm down, he's not the best player in the world by a long shot yet, nowhere near... the hype mongers on this thread are getting too worked up on this one, it's getting beyond the joke "look at this graph it proves every little bit of hype". He's having a good season in a weak league and he wasn't the best player on the pitch against us in either game, nor against BVB.

Lol, he seems a once in a generation player though mate and we are going full steam for him!

No one is suggesting that though. But trying to explain his efficiency by suggesting he is bigger than a regular 18 yeear old misses the point entirely.

No but there wouldn't be this level of hype if he wasn't 18 with those stats, you have to admit that so much of the hype stems from the fact that he's advanced for his age. I do rate him and would like him at City as I've said but I'm not desperate for him. He's not good enough to risk having to lower our targets at fullback and even DM for me.

I really think the better player will end up being Jesus personally, having both would be great but the hype has got too big now which will mean massive money and I expect him to struggle in his first season with the weight of the pricetag too.

Well apparently everyone who knows what's what in the game disagrees with you considering the number of bids Monaco turned down in the last 12months for a then 17 year old.

He's advanced for his age because he's absolutely lethal, not because he's physically more developed than anyone, he's a whippet.

As for your comment above "people say they can't believe he's only 18!"...yeah, people are saying that because he's taking champions league teams apart and finishes and makes runs like a 30 year old veteran.

I challenge you to find one piece of punditry or commentary where someone marvels at his size or strength. It doesn't exist.

You're trying to make out like he's a 6'4 15 stones kid playing against u16's.
