Just can't see Monaco selling to PSG. As some others have said, that's even worse than the Alexis to us saga. Alexis has priced himself out of a move to PSG and Bayern, whereas Mbappe hasn't ruled out any of his suitors. Real are also at the table in this instance whereas they weren't for Alexis. Alexis is also ten (!!!) years older than Mbappe (their birthdays are actually only one day apart, interestingly). If Monaco make that sale then along with Neymar, that duo pretty much confirms PSG win Ligue 1 for the next five years at the least.

Agreed. Some people seem to be of the opinion that selling Mbappe to PSG makes no difference as Monaco have basically sold most of their stars and won't be seriously competing for Ligue 1 next year anyway but if you look at it from a long term perspective, it makes no sense to sell to them. When you're talking about the amount of money Monaco are asking for him, even taking a little less than what PSG offer seems obvious to keep him off their roster.

I'm not actually sure that Dybala fits a pressing team, whenever I watch Juve he doesn't strike me as a particularly hard working player. Also, you've got zero chance of praising him from Juve.

Think he'd be good behind Jesus and I'm sure he could adapt. I agree though, can't see Juve letting him go.

Anyway, not giving up on my Mbappe hopes just yet.

Haha! You make a good point, I just don't think we can underestimate them this summer. They're taking a massively aggressive approach in the market. (So are we though!)

I think we'd tear them a new arsehole with or without Mbappe.

But I never believed we would pay 150 mil for Mbappe & I don't think Real would, so...

One good thing that comes out of this is say Real really won't go in for him until next summer and PSG offer somewhere around £150m, then City come in and offer around £130m surely they'd rather accept our offer than send him to their domestic rivals for just 20m more.

Like I've said to you multiple times, use £100m and fix the problems at CB, and DM. Do that and we've got the best squad in world football. Mbappe is a luxury, one we should pursue once there's no more weaknesses in the squad.

I still don't believe he'll go for more than £90-100m tops. There maybe some bonus' based on CL etc but just can't see him going for any more based on one really good season.
No doubt he's talented & will demand those sort of fees in the future, but not right now & I think Monaco are just trying their luck with high figures at present.
I said a few weeks ago, & I still believe it, that we'll go all out for this lad & sign Sanchez on a free next summer. Can see us doing a pre contract in Jan with him. But for now I think it's balls to the wall for Mbappé & nothing else.

Why can't we do that next year? Be patient and have all three.

Out of all the attacking players we have been linked with, Mbappe is the one I'd be most comfortable spending stupid money on, he's going to be right up.there but I agree, it's cherry on the cake stuff, when there's little bits missing out of the actual cake.

Jesus & Sané are both right up there too as good or better in the future imo & Aguero is better right now. Sterling is looking great. Bernardo Silva has another level in him, then for one extra attacking squad position we have Foden, Diaz, Roberts etc.

If it doesn't quite work 100% this season, it must surely be really fucking close, to something the likes of which has never been seen & there will be other attacking choices present themselves in the future.
