It's a horrendous injury. Wishing him a smooth recovery but that's a 9 month+ absence for the lad.Carvajal looks to have over extended his knee and has been stretchered off.
Could be an ACL.

Deffo in for Alexander Arnold now. It's a horrendous injury. Wishing him a smooth recovery but that's a 9 month+ absence for the lad.
He's going to be extremely lucky if that isn't double cruciates and lateral ligaments all completely gone as a minimum, Medial is the only ligament that might stay intact from that. That's an injury you don't play football again from, his target should be walking normally again.Carvajal looks to have over extended his knee and has been stretchered off.

Grim. Hopefully it’s not as bad as that. Didn’t Zouma do something similar a few years back and came back to bother cats? He's going to be extremely lucky if that isn't double cruciates and lateral ligaments all completely gone as a minimum, Medial is the only ligament that might stay intact from that. He's a **** but can't not feel for him, awful way to go out and thats going to have a long term impact on the rest of his life. Retirement announcement at the end of the season at the latest.
I hadn't seen any video, from the still image it looked as though he's going to fall with at least some of the opponents weight coming down on his already hyper-extended and damaged knee which is curtains for anybody if that happens.Grim. Following tests carried out on our player Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, a rupture of the external collateral ligament and a rupture of the popliteal tendon in his right leg.
He was in agony though, tried to stand and couldn’t. He could be Rodri’s recuperation buddy.I hadn't seen any video, from the still image it looked as though he's going to fall with at least some of the opponents weight coming down on his already hyper-extended and damaged knee which is curtains for anybody if that happens.
I've just seen the video and that doesn't happen thankfully. I'm no doctor so I could be talking out of my arse but i still expect that kind of injury, perhaps the long term impact might be lessened with no weighted fall though.
Edited my last post but Madrid confirmed a triple rupture. Not surprised he couldn't stand, his knee was basically hanging by a single ligament and skin.He was in agony though, tried to stand and couldn’t. He could be Rodri’s recuperation buddy.
Blimey, that was quick. Maybe they didn’t need to scan it as they could see through it.Edited my last post but Madrid confirmed a triple rupture. Not surprised he couldn't stand, his knee was basically hanging by a single ligament and skin.
