£8 per hour by 2020 when it will probably be worth the same as it is now given how prices will rise in the next 6 years.

Basically you are being given fuck all but spin by a Labour Party that is no longer labour.

And there you have it. Whilst the Loon left of this forum hoop and holler about how good Labour would be for this country they didn't seem to bother listening to any actual detail. No matter who is in power I would hope the minimum wage has risen by £1.50 in 6 years time.

It is spin pure and simple.

Re: Labour's Minimum Wage Promise/Millibland on Andrew Marr

It's not enough. I see all the well off posters moaning about it being too much but given inflation by that point it's not a big increase. The cost of living is the problem.

I'd be a whole lot more supportive of Labour if they pledged to do something about landlords and insurers. They've hoovered up whole streets of houses and now charge poor people a fortunate to live there. Meanwhile councils can't house everyone they need because of a social housing crisis because the Tories made councils sell all our housing stock for fuck all. Those who were able to buy their council houses were lucky. Probably all made a huge profit when selling them on.

For those on minimum wage zero hour contracts it's impossible to get a mortgage so they're stuck paying for someone else's mortgage, pissing money away. So what happens? They end up on benefits of one sort or another. The government ends up paying to ultimately line the pockets of private landlords and businesses who take the piss with their wages.

As for insurers. It's money for nothing. They'll do everything they can to get out of paying and charge you more for anything they can. My missus was born in South Africa but is a UK national and has been since she was 8 years old. The fucking insurers eyes lit up though when we said she was born in another country. They slapped another £60 on the premium! I'm surprised it's even legal to do that. They blame uninsured drivers and false claims but is it any wonder so many go uninsured when the premiums are more than the car is worth?

I have thought long and hard about you wrote here.

So for clarity are you accusing all labour supporters of being paedos?

All is the crucial word here.

As much as I find your ideas pretty daft, even I'd normally credit you with a greater level of literacy than that.

All the labour MPs and lords who support paedophilia
The subset of Labour MPs who support etc etc

Google labour25

So you use a dodgy conspiracy based website to make paedo insults about Labour party supporters. I question it and you question MY levels of literacy. I dont mind that people disagree with my politics and i dont mind if people take my posts apart as part of a debate. I enjoy it.

Perhaps given your obviously greater level of literacy you perhaps should have explained your original post with greater clarity so as to avoid tarring the whole Labour/left wing movement with the outrageous slur of paedophillia. Im still struggling BTW to see why you would bring these slurs into a thread about the minimun wage.

Now onto the Labour25 website you have managed to publicise. The first person on it Mr Diggett is a person i know. He is or was a SC holder at the Etihad. I have many years ago been in his company, this was before his conviction. The story on that site of what happened is not how i recall it. Mr Diggett did his punishment and I will not post any details of what i know on a public forum as he will not be able to answer in reply. All i can say is you believe what you want and if you believe some of the nonsense that you do then i feel sorry for you. Very sorry for you indeed.

I prefer political debate to be about ideas and strength of argument not needless attacks on peoples beliefs based on some random connection to paedophillia.

I still believe that you intended to cast doubts on the whole left wing movement with your slur and that i think is fucking shameful.

Re: Labour's Minimum Wage Promise/Millibland on Andrew Marr

Milliband pronouncing on this is like David Moyes saying who he'll buy when he's manager of Real Madrid.

Re: Labour's Minimum Wage Promise/Millibland on Andrew Marr

Ed Balls has joined in with the pledges (this is from The Indie ((may be an interesting General Election)):

Labour promises and their hazards
Pledge: Bring back the 10p starting rate of income tax, worth about £2 a week for workers.
How funded: From a “mansion tax” on properties worth over £2m, raising some £2bn a year.
Danger: In areas where house prices have over-heated, it could be seen as unfair.

Pledge: Extend free childcare from 15 to 25 hours a week.
How funded: £800m cost paid for by a higher levy on the banks.
Danger: Banks could find the extra raid on balance sheets undermines profitability.

Pledge: Long-term unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds are offered a taxpayer-funded job for six months and lose benefit if they refuse.
How funded: £5.5bn cost over five years met by taxing bank bonuses and changing tax rules on high earners’ pensions.
Danger: The money isn’t there. The Tories say Labour has “spent” it several times over.

Pledge: Scrap the so-called “bedroom tax”.
How funded: The bill could be at least £465m a year. Ed Miliband has said it would be afforded by “abolishing the shady schemes of tax loopholes for the privileged few”.
Danger: The cash raid hits the value of some pensions schemes.
