Lack of enthusiasm thread

Dog shit alley and those dodgy looking collections entering the Parkside.

Police horses..
Dodging police horses' crap..
Hot dog vendors..
Rickety turnstiles..
The walk back to town in the rain..
Ticket touts..
The last match bus from Aytoun Street..
The smell of tobacco and stale beer..
The mismatch of the 4 sides of the stadium..
Huge floodlights..
The 'away pen' in the Kippax..
The big pitch..
The Platt Lane benches..
The pockets of away fans in the City section of the Kippax..
Ending up 30 yards from where you were stood after a goal..

Great times..!

Its an age thing but i remember driving from Leeds for our first Div 3 home game v Blackpool wondering if anyone else would turn up . Loved how eg Colchester had 3k seated by 2pm. Other than hurling abuse at scousers, and reacting to abuse from Leeds little about the crowds to anticipate these days.

I’ve looked it up. I did intend to listen to it on the radio but I slept through it. I know the score but that’s it. I imagine I never watched MOTD2.
Honestly thought you were trying to say that you'd wiped all memory of the match from your memory due to the sheer horror of the experience.

I watched most of the match with my jaw hanging open in shock and disbelief at what I was witnessing, truly bewildering experience.

100% clear handball and penalty for city waved away and about 60 seconds later the red thieves were one up. Not too long later Salah appears to be marginally offside as he breaks from the halfway line and makes it 2-0. No break to check VAR, just goal given and kick off. No VAR images on the TV, no lines to show whether onside or off (not even shown during the half time chat, just simply airbrushed from history) until maybe midway through/very late on in the second half, and even then the images looked to have been "doctored" to give the illusion of onside and no explanation as to why it'd taken so long to show the images. We had a couple of other penalty claims waved away, the red thieves fouled without punishment all over the pitch and it was the day Gomez and Sterling began their "spat" (that then carried on into the England camp) after the former "nudged" the later off the pitch and into the advertising boards (again without even being told by the ref that he'd done anything wrong).

It was a total farce of a "match" and the day that I lost pretty much all of my interest in premier league football.

In some ways I wish I'd missed it too, in other ways I'm glad I saw it all with my own eyes.

The Chelsea game when we had 2 sent off & a 100% pen Taylor was about to give till he had a word in his ear was the beginning of the end for me , the game you mention v Liverpool confirmed what i’d Already thought but i’d Already packed it in after the disgusting ‘use’ of VAR v Spurs in our opener & i’ve Not been back since . VAR has finished football for me after 40years home & away .

I went to bed after the Chelsea Home match. I know someone who left at half time! Liverpool Away sounds just as bad or, if not, worse.

I’ve never been comfortable with Leicester winning the Premier League. I doubt it will but I often suspect something will come out one day.

I thought I was pissed off to the point of no return in 2017 when Kyle Walker pushed Sterling over (City v Spurs) without giving away a penalty and Jesus had a winner ruled out near the end for a pre VAR offside, and I still came back for more punishment.

That Chelsea game was a farce and by the way it kicked off on the pitch at the end, the lads agree with us, and still I came back for more punishment.

But, I agree, last year was too much for my eyes and brain to take. It seemed to be on a different level, it meant more.
But I'm done with it now mate, it's a manufactured joke.

Winners are decided off the pitch now & I want no part of it . Plenty will call me mad but I truly believe we’ve seen our last league title , var will deliver Utd & Liverpool constant titles now

I agree, dodgy as hell, the soul destroying thing is that nothing will ever come out about any of it.
