Laporte says goodbye

Absolute class from Eric. This is the type of player we sign. This is one of the biggest reasons we are so successful. He has been great for us but has also been sidelined a lot. The way he is leaving says a lot about him and about the club. Yes we have had a couple that have broken the mould and haven’t had quite the attitude but on the whole we get it right. This message is a wonderful way to go out. Honest and heartfelt. Good luck Eric on your onward journey. CTID
 
I wish the guy all the best. Like every player he had some great moments - the header at Brighton away when we won the league and the Carabou cup final goal vs Spurs - and he had some iffy moments, he's human. But one thing I won't forget, he played through the pain barrier towards the end of the 21-22 season when we were short on the ground. Huge respect for that. Others have since overtaken him as we continually raise the bar, so it's not a surprise to see him leave....but what is a surprise is that no-one in the PL or Europe has come in for him. He can still do a very good job. The Saudi League will set him up for life...good luck and thanks.
 
Will be missed. Top player. Watching his msg to fans you see how good he was. Great trophy haul while with us.
