ive fixed it before, twice. the fan has gone to... i think its dead to be honest!

Asda have Acer E machine with 160G HD and DVD/RW for £200. I know this as i've just bought one.
For another hundred you can get a toshiba one with integrated webcam.

im in the same position as you mate. my screen has gone blank and dont want to pay £110 to fix it because it has other problems too. the audio doesnt work, i keep getting loads of pop-ups that dont go away, it runs slow and the case is coming off it.
can any one recommend a laptop for around £200 - £300? not interested in anything fancy, just want something reliable that will let me write essays; use guitar pro and the internet

I live in Notts bud, i'm sure one of your warehouse style stores in Manc will have the same.

I was going to offer you my old Sony Vaio laptop for free :)
Needs new HDD & a DVD Drive though (I gave it a slap when I lost against Sunderland on FM).
Wont load up past the loading screen where the bar loads across.
No guarantee that would fix it however, so you could go and buy a DVD drive (£30 off e-bay) and HDD and still not have a working laptop.

Sunderland or the cause of my laptop troubles as well.
Watching us play them 2 seasons ago i think, anyway we were winning one nil i think we hadn't long scored and it was coming to an end the match. And i was watching on my laptop - and suddenly they scored. As was a bit pissed off i punched my screen not hard, but clearly hard enough to break it. So all i had left was the audio and after panicking i then here City score near the death to win it.
Didn't know weather to be happy or annoyed.
