These things fluctuate all the time. A couple of years ago City were top of this 5 year net spend list with United while Chelsea were bottom half, like 14th highest or something.

Clearly the last two windows have propelled us right to the top but we know Liverpool and United are getting new owners so they'll go on a spending spree soon. Newcastle are chilling at the moment but they'll start making a noise soon too, and I'm pretty sure City will go big in the summer too with perhaps some high profile outgoings? I'm seeing stories about Bernado Silva.

We've obviously accrued a shit load of dough, over the last 5 seasons from prize money, player sales, sponsorship, & unspent transfer budgets.

If City decided to do a Chelsea, how big a transfer war chest would we have?

Lots of potential outgoing in the summer too that’s not included in here:
Cancelo, Bernardo, Couto, Herrera, Kabore, + sellon clauses on Porro, Brahim Diaz and Ivan Ilic. Don’t we have one on Tosin as well?
Could potentially see Wilson-Esbrand, Harwood-Bellis, T. Doyle, Delap and Borges leave too.
In total it could be another 200m summer in sales

That chart is net spend though, not gross spend. You're right, we will have some outgoings this summer and that's the difference. Our outgoings are worth good money, Gundogan aside, who is out out of contract unless he signs an extension.

You have to have a fire sale as you can't even register some of your players for the PL or CL right now. That's an untenable situation and ripe for exploitation by other clubs. Lord knows how it's going to affect your academy.

no it is not. your spend was always near the top 3. once the english teams realize your academy is shit overrated, incoming money will stop for you. then you will have nowhere to hide your market distortion.
