Thank you for your long and dedicated service, to our wonderful fire service.Well it seems to have taken ages but has come up quick, today I retire from the fire service 20 years 9 months, 35 years in public service in total! The last 6 months are not how I wanted to finish but there was sod all I could do about my bloody back, I’m gutted not to have had that one last good shout. It’s been an honour to have served the people of Manchester and I’ve made friends for life in the job they really are like a second family. Thankfully with the way everything’s going in the country I’m going at just the right time, I will be mortgage free and have some savings behind me and the family now. Hope to get a camper van and get out and see some of the U.K. and Europe following City as much as possible now, the mad dog we got will keep me fit. If you can do it finish as early as you can you never know what’s round the corner.
Fleetwood-by-sea amazingly gained money with the move & got a much nicer house too, funnily just off Broadway as well.Which coast mate? Unfortunately my daughter is only 10 so stuck in oldham for at least that.
Good. Always seems to be curtains when a cop goes out on his last day according to US tv shows.Finishing on the sick pal so that’s definitely not happening. Sat on my arse I’ve made a career out of that according to some lol.
