Last Film You Saw

Stars Wars the last jedi. First time I've dared to watch it since i saw it in the cinema. Can't actually comprehend how much they fucked this up. The worst Star Wars movie and that's saying something considering The Phantom Menace exists. No character development, awful 'humour', longest/most boring chase in cinematic history, how they treated Luke's character, Canto Bight!!!...the flaws are endless. It actually hurts to watch. I'll see the upcoming movie but i know it will be soul crushing...There is no chance of saving this trilogy. Kathleen Kennedy, Rian Johnson....fuck you to the moon
Have to agree, I knew from the moment they did that shift phone call thing at the start it was going wrong, it the only one I’ve been at where very one stood up at the end and went what the fuck! I go to the midnight showings with obviously all the fanboys and no one could believe what we watched, I do think Abrams will pull it back but everyone knows that shit show of TLJ should’ve never happened, he’s got his work cut out but I think he will do it.

The new Halloween.

Whilst it doesn’t come close to the original’s excellence, it’s a well-made thriller/horror with a brilliant performance from Jamie Lee Curtis.

It’s not exactly glowing praise but I’d rank it as the best Halloween sequel yet, with Halloween 2 and H20 not too far behind. I didn’t care for Zombie’s remake though.
The head stomping scene in the woods is a bit gross!

"Adopt a Highway"; an American term that serves as a double meaning for this film.

Don't get me wrong, there's a strong msg in this film in a political and societal sense, but it's also less than it could have been.

It tried to spread itself over so many themes, the film ended up thin, which was quite a shame, really.

Not even the great Ethane Hawke could do much with an interesting character he could only scratch the surface with.

Just watched it. His upernatural strength disconnects it from the 6 year old boy story imo.

I'm not into horrors though so me thinking it's only ok means shit all to anyone else.

Haven't seen it yet but very much looking forward to the Irishman.

It's been very well received and is a bit of a blast from the past to some absolutely brilliant films.

My biggest fear is that it would be something like a gooodfellas sequel but it sounds like it's stood alone absolutely fine.

Watched Halloween (1978) yesterday. Tried to watch it in dvd on halloween night as it was the only version I had, had to turn it off, go knows how we coped with DVDs for all those years. So Ordered the blu ray and the difference is night and day. One of my favourite films.

Ken Loach's new one about the gig economy, "Sorry we missed you". Typically intense, but too traumatic to be enjoyable. The protagonist is a Rags fan in Newcastle - there's a scene with a Newcastle fan saying he doesn't know United fans came from Manchester then taunts him about Sergio and 93.20.

Writer Paul Laverty wrote "Looking for Eric" about a Cantona-obsessed fan, so maybe a bit of balance!
