Last Film You Saw

Well overhyped.
Wouldn’t go as far as calling it shite, but quite average really.

It opened well but got worse the longer it went on.
I was really enjoying the movie until the sniper couldn't hit him because a fence was in the way.
Then the German soldier running 10 yards
behind him couldn't even hit him as well.

Just finished watching Japanese auteur director Nagisa Oshima’s Sing a Song of Sex and thought it was as much fun as having electrodes attached your testicles and being flogged senseless with a rope.

The one I saw before that was excellent, though: Point Blank with Lee Marvin.

If you're Bostonian, then you'll have the upper hand on me to say whether Cohen's accent is 'authentic'.

For me, I've heard the base layer of that 'accent' too many times and enough to hear when he has difficulty in forming his vocals around pronunciations. He's a million miles off a the Boston native Wahlberg family or even the soft lilt of Boston influenced Dana White.

I say that cos I listen, have heard accents and have done my best to place them for as long as I can remember.

As for the rest of your post, it would be pretty interesting to see if there's a genuine attempt to make a 'Panthers' movie, rather than one that skirts the edges about that period of time.

*Actually writing that gave me pause for thought I had a look to see if there actually was anything other than docus on the BP Party.

There's a film due to be released next year called "Judas and the Black Messiah" with our own Daniel Kaluuya playing 'Fred Hampton'

Having just sat through this trailer, I've got to say DK is magic, the trailer gives me goosebumps and DK looks like award winning probability!

Place your bets, people!

I would agree he certainly doesn't sound like a Boston native. But Hoffman was born in Worcester in the 1930s remember. He's not trying to be Wahlberg! You can listen to Abbie Hoffman speaking on youtube. Have a go - you'll re-assess how good Sacha is if you do, I think.

That film looks incredible, and let's hope it delivers. It could clean up at the awards ceremonies.

I will check it out.

Thanks.

Love and Monsters.
I don’t half watch some shite when I get in and have a smoke..

Prospect, indie sci-fi flick small cast on an alien planet looking to score some precious alien eggs and pay for the ride home. Plot and character wise, most of it would have worked dropped straight into a western, or a horror. Good performances and very easy on the eye, with some interesting touches, it just about maintained the tension and emotional connection with the young central character throughout.
