Tenet was too much. It missed an adequate explanation at the start that could have helped people follow it more closely. Because, from the start, it's all over the place you are already at a loss by the time the premise is explained and whilst it is undoubtedly clever in the way the scenes repeat forwards and backwards from different perspectives it could have been produced and pieced together in a clearer manner.

Inception was clearly a similarly layered film but there was more time spent explaining the premise and how it worked that enabled the film to be followed more easily. I think Nolan probably avoided doing the same in Tenet for fear people would just think it was an identical film just based on time vs reality rather than dream vs reality. But actually, that is all that it is.

I'm a big fan of Nolan's films.
I mean sometimes I want simplicity in a movie but sometimes I want to be challenged, visually and mentally.
I think is movies are very Elegant and superbly well made.

My 3 favorites of his would be..
Interstellar
Batman Begins
Dunkirk

 
I Care a Lot


A fun watch - not exceptional, but well worth while. Preview the trailer above to see if it might interest you. Acting was fantastic throughout.
 
The woman in the window. A different take on the Rear Window story, even though Amy Adams was deliberately made to look rough, theres something about her that makes me go weak at the knees, I love her.

Film was a solid 7.5
 
I watched Joe starring Nic Cage and Tye Sheridan last night. Grubby, dark, a bit evil and excellent. 90% of Cage’s work is pure shite for the money but that allows him the freedom to work for union scale on stuff he actually like Joe. Well worth a watch. See also Dog Eat Dog etc
